So since the Disney company removed my local pin purchasing opportunity by closing the World of Disney store in Manhattan I am now relegated to purchasing pins from DisneyStore.com, eBAY and calling in favors from folks that are going to WDW/DLR/DLRP.
I have read more than a few posts on this site where people claim to buy pins at Garage sales, estate sales and antique shops - trying to understand how common this is and how the good folks on this board get pins.
I am always looking for traders and any opportunity I have to pick up pins is a good thing as there usually is SOMEONE that wants the pin and is willing to trade with me.
One of my personal challenges is that while I have nearly a thousand pins many of them are 'newer' in the sense that they are recently released and not super desireable (YET!) since folks could have bought them like me.
Looking for older pins and of course not looking to spend a ton of $ on them ;-)
Curious as to where you folks get your pins, success @ 'alternative' sourcing (eBAY, online, etc.), and suggestions on maximizing my time - I have been to many garage sales claiming Disney pins (from Craigslist) and they are usually the buttons.......
