With Thanksgiving we totally forgot to preorder Photopass+. Oooops! Here is my question, can we get a photopass card, get photos done, and then buy photopass at the end of our trip if we feel it is worth it? Or do we have to buy it the first day?

You can buy it at the end of your trip but I don't believe you would get magic shots. You also might not be able to get every attraction photo unless they keep the photos for how every long you are there for. It would also be a hassle to go to every attraction at the end and find your photos to put on it.

I am not 100% positive about the magic shots but I do know that you can buy at the end.

I also do not know the answer for certain, but you can purchase your photos at the end of the trip. From the back of the PhotoPass card that you get from the PhotoPass photographer:
"Keep and reuse this pass to get photos taken in any park. Visit a Disney PhotoPass center or go to DisneyPhotoPass.com and enter the ID number below during registration. Share you photos and order your favorites as prints or get them all on Disney's PhotoCD."

The biggest caveat is that I don't know if this includes attraction photos and/or character dining photos. I know both of those are included with PhotoPass+, but I don't know about just PhotoPass.

In terms of the Magic Shots, those should be included because it has nothing to do with PhotoPass+. Just approach a free moving PhotoPass photographer (ones on tripods do not generally have any Magic Shots) and ask if they have a Magic Shot. If they do, they'll set it up and then take the photo.

In terms of the attraction photos, you have to add them to your PhotoPass card at the attraction. They say you have to get the photos added to your card within 24-hours, but the CMs said you usually have a few days. You also have to go to that attraction to get the photos added for that attraction.

Thanks! So it probably makes sense to buy it the first day it sounds like. If I buy it in the park, do I get the same thing I would get if I preordered (attraction photos, dining photos, gallery cd, etc??

It is my understanding that the only difference between pre-ordering PP+ and buying at the parks is the price. You get all of the same benefits, it just costs more if you buy it at the parks or at a character meal.

I find it worth it, especially if you are doing a character meal with a photo (Minnie, Ariel and Goofy) or you like to buy ride photos. So I would get it before hand if you are doing any of the above.

I think character meal picture packages are in the $30-$40 range, and ride photos are $15 and up.

Yeah, we're doing Ariel's and it's my nieces first trip, so ride photos would be fun to have (a bonus to the PP IMO, we don't usually buy them because they are ridiculously expensive!)

Magic Shots can be done, you don't need a Photopass plus for that.

But the character meal and ride photos can be a problem. You'd need to buy the pictures to get the numbers - at least for character meals, I don't usually do rides with on ride photos so I can't tell for those. Those numbers on the pictures can be added to the Photopass/the account later. But I have heard conflicting stories if these expenses will be reimbursed when you buy Photopass.

You don't have to buy the photo to get the number for the attraction photos. The number is shown on the screen where you can view the photos. However, you still need to have a photopass card to have the photos saved to your account.
