Buying OTU points to use at a restricted resort

Hello! Has anyone ever bought and used OTU points at a restricted resort (VDH, RIV, or the cabins) that is not your home resort? I purchased direct and am trying to add on a night to an existing VDH reservation and member services is having a hard time doing it.

That's kinda weird since the OTUP are direct points and would not have any restrictions. Is it definitely the points and not a inventory issue (ie, the room type is available on the day you want it)?

Are you within 7 months for the day you are trying to add on? That’s the only reason I could think of. I’ve definitely used OTUP at Riviera and I think VDH but I can’t remember for sure on this one.

Member services wasn’t sure what the problem was, but the room is available. They said they were saving the room for me and have sent it to IT to hopefully resolve the issue.

Yeah, I’m adding the day on to the beginning of the trip. I’m glad to hear you were able to do it, so hopefully it’s just something weird and IT will be able to resolve it.
