On Dec. 26, I bought 2 pairs of pants for my son from Lands end, and paid with paypal.

They arrived on Thursday, Jan. 5th. It took a couple days for me to nag my son into trying them on...and when he did they didn't fit.

So on Sunday, January 8th I went to return them to my local Sears Lands End counter.

I looked to see if they had the same pants in a different size that he could try, but they didn't.

The CSR told me that my options for return would be
1) Lands End credit
2) a paper check from Lands End (would be sent to me in the mail)
3) a credit to my credit card.

I explained that I used paypal, not a credit card to pay. She said it didn't matter, they could still process the credit to any credit card I have.

I asked since paypal is essentially cash, couldn't they just give me a cash refund--and she said no, it wasn't possible.

I figured that it sounded like the quickest way for me to get my money back was just to get it credited to a credit card so I handed over my Visa.

It's wednesday, and still not showing up when I check my Visa account online...

Has anyone done this before, and how long did it take for the credit to show up? I'm kind of irritated.

I did the same thing, ordered from Lands End, payed through PayPal and returned it to Sears. They were able to credit my PayPal account, without any problem. Give it a few days, I think it took quite a few days for my credit to process. Good Luck!

I had to return some things to Sears (Lands End). I had put it on the credit card and it was refunded immediately.

Call one of the lands end operators. They are super friendly and will be able to check your account.

Depending on your credit card, credits (certainly not debits) can take a long time to show up. On my AMEX, they are immediate. On my VISA, it can take up to a week to see them. I only know this because I returned a mattress and got a credit and I was very nervous because it took awhile to see it. Called my Visa card and they told me that this is just how long it takes. They do some sort of batch processing for refunds.

I've returned a lot of things at Sears from Land's End. It usually takes about 7-10 days after the return for it to show up on the card. The item has to be shipped to the warehouse and checked in before they actually allow the credit to go through according to an email reply I got when one of the refunds took longer than usual. Don't worry, I'm sure the money will show up on your CC.

Woah! I didn't know that they had to actually receive the item back at the warehouse to process it--I figured once it was at Sears it was returned. :(

Thanks for the info!
