Buying OKW resale

I am wondering about this. We got our book and have looked at umpteen pictures online. We are thinking that our first choice would actually be OKW. I know that owners are being offerred the opportunity to buy the extra years right now. Anyone know how long that will be available? Trying to figure this all out and there is a LOT of information to sort through!

Presently, OKW owners may purchase the extension for $20 per point. This is an "incentive" of $5 off the "real" price (voted on last fall by DVD) of $25 - but still $5 more than the original offer which ended in February.

No mention of any timeline for purchasing the extension has been announced by DVC. If you are considering a resale purchase, but would prefer to have the 2057 expiration (instead of 2042), be sure to do the math. OKW may be purchased thru DVC - with the extended years - for $101 per point with no closing costs. You'd need to find a resale for less than about $78 to end up with better pricing than what's available thru Disney directly - and that's with the assumption that you can purchase the extension for $20 per point after you have closed.
