Buying more points

Does anyone know how one can go about buying extra points? Seems like my points don't last me through the year anymore and I'm tending to go
More and more... I don't exactly want to buy any "new" points, but I don't want to be restricted to where I can use the extras if I go through the second-hand place, either. I know if I buy them through the Timeshare Store
They can't be used outside the Vacation Club resorts in Disney. Thanks for any input received.

To buy directly just call your guide. They'll be very very happy to sell you points.

Otherwise there are several reputable brokers who have listing of contracts for sale. If you purchase resale you are not restricted to only using the points at DVC resorts. They can also be used to trade thru RCI, Club Intrawest and Club Cordial. The cannot be used for the Disney Collection or Concierge Collection.

Other options to supplement your points that would not require buying another contract would be to take advantage of the one time use points. You may get up to 24 one time use points thru MS each UY but they can only be purchased at 7 months or less. Or you could do transfers into your account from another member. Depending on how many points you are short it might work to do a larger transfer in that would make up a difference and that would allow you to bank your own points forward. Another option is to rent a reservation that you could link to a reservation that you make with your own points so several other options that might work but not require purchasing a contract.

Resale points can be used outside the DVC resorts. You can use them to book through RCI. What you can't do is use them for stays at the non-DVC Disney resorts, Disney Cruise Line, Adventures by Disney or the Comcierge Collection. We consider those options to be a waste of points so the restrictions don't bother us at all. We bought our last three contracts via resale and saved about 40% over Disney's prices.
