Buying Magic Bands Through the Disney Shop Parks App

If I buy Magic Bands through the Disney Shop Parks App, will they automatically be "link it later?" I don't want them linked to my current reservation in MDE. Is this an option (link it later); is there anything special I need to do?

It will be "link it later" because you don't specify where it should be linked. It's just a general retail purchase.

Just be sure to save your confirmation. I bought 4 for Christmas and one wouldn't link. When they sold it, they never entered it as sold. When we checked in, I was able to get the front desk to link it, but they did ask to see my confirmation that I purchased it. I am sure that doesn't happen often, but you never know.
