Buying Liquor on board for consumption

Can you purchase liquor on board and consume it in your state room or is it only for when you embark from the ship. Can you bring your own liquor on board or does disney frown on it?

You can bring your own but you need to check it in your luggage. I have never taken any on board, but I have been told you can not carry it on in your carryon bag.

Yes, anything you bring on board can be for your own use, but can not be taken off the ship once opened...We gave the rest to our server team, and they were thrilled..

You can also purchase onboard, but that will only be given to you before you disembark...

I have always carried on my few bottles of wine/liquor (13 cruises)....I never had a problem...I would be afraid of leaks if it was in my checked luggage. Is this something new about not being able to carry it on?

EVerything I have read (and I'm doing this in 29 days) say to carry it on in your carry-on bags. That it just has to be able to go through the scanning machines. We brought a rolling soft sided cooler from disneydirect.com and plan on rolling that on with some beer and wine in it.

I thought I read something that said if you buy it onboard you couldn't have it until you left the ship. So double check if you are sailing soon but I don't think you can buy it on the ship and then drink it in your stateroom.
