Buying giftcards at Disneystore.com?

Hello

I spent quite a while yesterday designing gift cards for our kids for our trip this year...only to find at the checkout that it wouldn't let me complete my purchase! I tried both paypal and visa and everything was filled in correctly. Has anyone else had this problem?

Failing the online option, can I pick up gift cards at the Disneystore in Canada and use them the same way? I really want to be able add money to the cards as the kids earn more money to put toward their trips. Is this possible with the ones you buy at the store?

Thanks so much,

Beth :hippie:

I was under the impression that Canadian Disney gift cards are not redeemable in the U.S. (which seems kind of dumb).

Can someone else confirm/verify the rules? :confused3

Thanks! It's so tricky to find these little bits of info. It will be a great hardship, but if I have to cross the border and shop where there is as Disneystore to buy these cards, then that is a burden I will just have to bear for my children. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks again! :)

I assume you can buy gift cards at the park? Why not just save up the ,only and make that the first thing you do when you get to the park.

We did that but I was so disappointed in the cards at the parks. The kids (and I!) wanted some of the really great designs! But all they had were things like Hannah Montana, Happy Birthday and some other generic kinds..

Frankly I do not understand why Canadians cannot purchase the US Disney Gift Cards. Especially those who are paying in US Funds (no worries about exchange rate then).

I am so happy that QuickRewards offers the US Disney Gift Cards as an option!! :)

We are headed to an Outlet Mall in Michigan tomorrow to get our gift cards! I can't wait. I have a feeling that there might be some spoiling of children about to take place. :)

The simple reason Disney can't sell US dollar gift card in Canada is simple that they are in US dollars and it would be illegal for them to do that. As only banks and foreign exchange places are allowed to change currency sometimes a hotel will do that mainly only with US as they can get it converted easily with whichever bank they deal with)

Hello! I went to Glendon just around the corner from you. I taught for a year at Northlea. :) Small World... :wave2::wave2:

I've ordered them from the US before. You have to go through Disneyland.com (not Disneyworld). Gift cards are listed under tickets.

http://disneyland.disney.go.com/tickets/ (scroll to bottom of page)

Minimum gift card amount is $25. There is an shipping fee of $25, no brokerage. But, if you are buying multiple amounts of cards for gifts, that still may be a good value to ship ahead of time. ...Otherwise, you have to find and visit a US store.

Sorry this is off topic, but how do you find the surveys that Canadians can do? I signed up two weeks ago but I am never able to complete a survey because I am in Canada.

I also do those surveys, and since January I'm up to $65! :cool1:

I have a list of "Cdn" surveys that I do from their site. I ignore the ones they e-mail except for the daily list that gives you a penny per ... may not seem like much but if you click on those 15 e-mails everyday, that's a dollar a week.

From their site, I have been successful with:
-- definitely the SI Daily surveys
-- the GMI daily one
-- the Give us your 2 cents Canada version
-- the United Daily Survey

Some days I get 2-3, then there's a gap with nothing. It generally works out to maybe a dozen a month.

If you tend to buy online, their is a link for Canadian stores -- including Old Navy, Indigo, Crocs, etc -- that gives you cash back.

It takes a little time each day ... but for me. I like earning "free" vacation money! :thumbsup2

I started in February and am up to $84.12. I decided to cash in every time I reach $50, so I already have my first $50 Disney gift card and just need another $16 for for my next $50 gift card.

From February 2012 to August 2013, I'm aiming for $500 in Disney gift cards. :thumbsup2

I earn .20 to .25 cents a day by: (honestly, it takes only 5-10 minutes max)
- clicking all the penny e-mail links sent to me each day
- clicking the penny link on their website
- clicking the "daily click" links AND the "QR Exclusive daily click" links
- and doing a internet search through them every hour (4 searches = a penny)

And while I do not get credited the same day, I also check 2 or 3 times a day for the videos. You get QuickPoints for watching a video, and every 100 QPs turn into a penny.

For the surveys, I click on EVERY survey link they e-mail each day, plus the ones on the website under "surveys". You are right though. It's frustrating how many are for americans only. But I still average 1 survey per day over a month.

A important thing to note is that surveys open up at various times. About 5:30/6:00 in the morning, I start clicking the survey links e-mailed to me. Sometimes I will get a survey right away. Sometimes not. However, I keep those links and try again in the afternoon and evening. Often if I do not get a survey in the morning, I will get one later in the day. I'm home most days so I'm able to do this. Otherwise, it would be more difficult to obtain the surveys.

Shopping -->> So far I have only used iTunes and Groupon. But there are a lot of others. My next Disney order will be done through QR's link. If I want to do an online purchase that QR does not offer a link to, then I log into my Ebates account and do it through them.

When you complete the GMI surveys, does your account automatically get credited with the cash, or do you have to e-mail support for a manual credit? It's the only survey company that I have not been able to get automatic credit from. QR has been very good about giving me the credit manually (since I keep track of my surveys and provide them with a ton of info to prove I took the survey) but still... These are usually $1 surveys and they don't receive the money. I feel bad about that, but I'm not going to just forget about it.

I don't have to e-mail QR, but that one takes longer to show up. It says 4-7 days, and it usually gets posted on a Monday. So, if you do the survey on a Monday you may have to wait until the next Monday to see it.

I have had problems with some purchases that didn't give the cash credit, but in general I have found their customer service to be extremely responsive and quick to help.

I also have my first $50 card. I was worried it would take a long time to ship, but I received it within 2 weeks! :thumbsup2
