When we stayed at BWV, we would run down to the small store on the Boardwalk to top up with any food we required or forgot to bring..... does AKL have anything similar? Trying to decide re: ordering food in vs bringing our own (within reason). Just wondering if option on site small store to buy milk, etc. Thanks!

Yes, the AKL main store has a little area for food/drink items like BWV where, like BWV, you pay a king's ransom for things you need. AKV Kidani building is supposed to have the same.

Both Jambo House and Kidani Village have gift shops that carry groceries.

Not having stayed at Jambo or Kidani yet, first time this year, are the groceries you can buy expensive there? Is it better to bring in your own if possible? :confused3

So much cheaper to bring your own. Last year we were at Jambo, and didn't rent a car. It was sooooooo expensive to buy a few things in the store there!
You can also look into grocery delivery. I have heard lots of good things about that. I've never done it yet. This year we are renting a car so we will be going to the nearest Super Walmart!

If you look at "Grocery list/Request Forms" on the DVC website - the prices are approximately the same in the small stores. Fruit is outrageous. We bring in much of the dry items (granola bars, snacks, coffee, tea, etc.) in suitcases but then last year bought milk, OJ, etc. We are considering ordered from Garden Grocer or Wego this year, as both have gotten rave reviews on this DIS boards.

Go to the super target. We don't have one around here. There is (or atleast was the last time we were there) a Krispy Kreme store. They are so much better when they come right out ofthe oven.

This is what we are considering for our trip this year. Ordering from Garden Grocer as the prices are fairly close to what we have in our area and then bringing in our dry items, as you do. :thumbsup2
