Buying Fastpasses

HI All I have read a lot of you refer to buying fastpasses on EBAY. I am a WDW veteran and have never heard of this previously. It seems that this is illegal as it is not offered by Disney and it seems that these are in fact a fraud. Can any of you help me to understand the validity of these passes and their actual value. I am afraid of being taken if I were to buy some and also I feel like maybe I would be cheating. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.::cop:

I have two - bought from ebay and they do work, they are basically passes that have been given out by cast members in the past.

I dont think you will need them though - unless you are there during a public holiday. the fastpass machines arent even usually turned on a Walt Disney Studios!

I bought 4 for my last trip. They did work but I didn't need them - the park wasn't busy enough. I bought mine from French ebay as they were cheaper than buying from the UK. :)

If people print out their entrance tickets at home, it seems they cannot use them in the FP machine, so the CMs give them these special FPs at the entrance. That is my understanding.

These are only supposed to be valid for that day, but it seems they have unlimited validity, so people sell them on.

There are far too many on sale to just been guests passing them on - it seems there must be CMs actually selling them or passing them to be sold.

So yes, it would seem that, whilst not illegal, these are not quite legit either.

I have noticed on my last few visits that almost EVERYBODY seems to have them and the CMs take no notice of them.:confused3

I see and appreciate the info. I will be there 2 - 12 april and will leave on Easter Sunday. I do not assume that I will "Need" these, however will I be leaving myself and my kids out in the cold without them if everyone seems to have them? The attractions that I am most concerned with at BTM, SM2, buzz, HTOT, and RRC. I feel sure we will be able to go on everything I jsut want to afford us every opportunity. Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks again.:scratchin

I never saw anybody using them, but as I say we didnt really need fast pass.

Your best bet is to do SM2 and Buzz doing EMH as it will be a walk on, and I doubt HTOT and RRC will have fastpass machines open (the biggest queues in Walt Disney Studios are for Crush). BTM is the only one where you may need a fastpass - and you can get them using your own ticket anyway.:)

I was there in January (the quietest time) and I still bought some, because, like you, I didn't want to be the only ones without them. As they cost me less than £10 for 4, I thought it was money well spent as it was a sort of 'insurance'. I didn't want to be there, wishing I'd bought them!

As I can only go during school holidays, it is always busy when I go - and TOT always has it's FP machines open. In the most busy times (last time we went) RnRC also has FP machines running. Even Flying Carpets had its FP up and running. :sad2:

I would think it is better to have them and not need them - especially as they are not too expensive.

I only go to DLRP at busy times and have never felt the need to buy these fastpasses from Ebay. We used to ride Peter Pan and Buzz in EMH, and used to get fastpasses in the day for Big Thunder Mountain and Tower of Terror although we invariably found the line for the latter was often only 5 minutes even in August!

I don't have a problem with other people buying them ~ I just refuse to line the pockets of either less than honest CMs or guests who were genuinely given the fastpasses then trying to make money out of them!!

Whatever you decide I'm sure you'll have a fantastic trip! :goodvibes

it's always handy to have them just in case. If one particular ride is always busy then you will be able to take full advantage of them if their FT is open
