Buying extra points then cancel

If I cancel a reservation that I purchased extra points for- will the points purchased show up on my DVC account online? I purchased 15 extra points in order to reserve 3 nights for 30 points. After canceling my ressie I only see 15 points on my account? Has anyone done this before?

You have to call to re-use the extra points. Like a transfer, they don't show up online.
