Hey everyone! this is my first post!

I'm interested in buying extra points on an existing contract through Disney. I spoke with my DVC guide who informed me that I can definitely buy extra points for $155 pp (I know there are resale contract websites like dvcstore.com but this is a question about buying through Disney)....

Does anyone know if I wait and purchase these extra points in the future the price per point will increase as well?

I just bought a resale through Disney at OKW for 155 pp this year. The price pp hasn't changed yet, but I worry that the price may increase.

Thank you in advance

What you would be buying is an additional contract of at least 25 points. It would be separate from your original and would be contract xxxxx.1 or maybe xxxxx.2. With the same use year and resort, the contract will be easy to use with your present one.

Yes, the price could go up. I think they have traditionally given us a heads up about price increases.

DVC only sells direct points. The current OKW price will most likely go up for several more years as they expire in 2057, not the 2042 as most 'older' OKW contracts. If you want to ADD ON to your current contract you can do that through DVC at what ever the then current sale price may be. ADD ONs can be anywhere from 25 points and up.

Thank you both for your quick replies!

Since it would be 2 contract (.1 and .2) would the points be pooled together automatically and both can be used together at the 11 month mark?

Thank you again!

Yes. If you buy the same resort and UY, then they will function as one big pool of points when it comes to booking reservations.

Maybe I am misunderstanding your question. If the contracts are all titled the same, with the same home resort and Use Year, then when you make a reservation at the 11 month mark you can choose which contract(s) to use; points from all of the contracts will be available. But when you look at your DVC account online to make a reservation, it doesn't look like one big pool of points.

So the question as I understand it is will the direct point price for OKW (or prices in general) go up anytime soon. The answer is likely yes. DVC prices at all resorts went up in January of 2019. Some went up a lot (Beach Club went up $40). DVC has discovered that they can use direct pricing to also manipulate (to a degree) resale pricing...by raising direct pricing - the resale prices rise - and therefore it becomes more sensable to buy direct at Riviera versus $150 a point at BCV.

Anyways, I would expect the prices to go up again sometime next year. Likely the amount for most resorts will be small - but I could see a $5 increase for many of the older properties (as well as the new one). However, between now and the end of the year you are probably pretty safe.
