( I added the "California" when I realised I would get loads of DLP replies!:rotfl2:)
We are doing a coach tour of California in May and finishing with 4 days in Anaheim -where do any seasoned California travellers recommend buying the park hoppers? From Disney, from someone else or wait until we get there?

I would buy them on the DL (california, lol) site, etickets to avoid shipping fees

you could also buy them from a reputable seller

I wouldn't wait until I get there for 2 reasons.
#1 you would have to stand in lines to buy tickets
#2 there might be a price increase between now and the time you get there.

things you have to consider is that buying on the US site means you'll pay in USD, so there might be crossborder fees with your bank (unless you have a CC in USD)
and printing at home means a large piece of paper as a ticket, and that might not be as convinient as a real ticket. (I'm thinking about FPs for example, it's not as easy to scan as a real ticket)

May/June is the time when ticket prices rise.

You can buy them online at disneyland's website with a "print at home" option. You can then print it on a regular piece of paper, which will then be exchanged for a paper ticket at the turnstile.

How long will you be in CA before you end up in Anaheim? If you go to a local grocery store in CA (Vons, Pavillions, Albertson's, etc.), I believe they also sell the park hoppers there.

I buy mine from Attraction Tickets Direct, even when the exchange rate was 1.70 they still gave a saving over buying from the Disneyland site plus you get hard tickets so no having to wait to change etickets for paper ones.

One thing worth noting is that at DL California, if you have a paper e-ticket that you printed at home, you no longer have to queue up to get them changed for a "proper" ticket at Will Call like you used to - they actually have a supply of regular tickets at the turnstile and will swap your paper one for you then and there with no wait.

I was looking at their website but they seem to have 2,3 or 5 day hoppers!

It doesn't matter about the queueing up to buy the tickets when we get there as we arrive at our hotel in Anaheim around teatime so we can go and soak up the DTD ambience and buy the tickets that evening before hitting the parks next morning-interesting about buying them in the stores though-its a 2 week tour of California we do and they always have breaks at supermarkets for all the folks on the coach whop have spent £3000 on a coach holiday and then try to skimp on their food, so want to buy stuff from supermarkets...:confused3
Thanks for your input everyone- Feliz Navidad...

funny thing - i can't for the life of me remember where i bought them....i think we were there 12 years ago or thereabouts..

i'm pretty sure we bought them when we got there..

oh wait a minute...i just remembered...they were part of the hotel package...
i'd reserved 5 nights at the grand californian - the tickets were part of the hotel room package...duh....i'm an idiot...

We've been twice and bought ours from Attraction Tickets Direct on both occasions
