Buying Disney AP online

I know this has been asked before, and I apologize for the duplicate question. I've tried using the search function to find the answer I need, but the search function keeps giving me errors.

DH and I will be heading to DL next weekend (Friday-Sunday) and we will be getting annual passes again. The last time we got AP's it was spur of the moment and we did it at the ticket booths. This go around we will be paying for 1 AP + Maxpass in full and the 2nd AP on the payment plan (but 2nd Maxpass in full). I was thinking it'd be easiest to just purchase them online beforehand, but I want to make sure the dates of our AP won't start until we actually use it.

I do know that we need to visit the ticket booths to exchange the paper copy/receipt for an actual AP.

So my question is, when will the first day of my AP start?

Sorry to piggy back onto your thread but I bought AP’s online 2 weeks ago and the date on there says valid from the date I’ve bought them from?

When I bought my deluxe pass online nearly 2 years ago, it didn’t start until the day I picked it up/activated it at the ticket booth. This time I’ve bought the Signature pass.

So are they not valid until the day I activate them again? Thanks!

Whenever you find something on the boards that isn't working, use the "contact us" link at the very bottom of this page to let the webmaster know. It's important that the search bar/function work on this board -- it certainly gets enough use!

Thank you very much! We were so sure they didn’t activate until we collect from the ticket booth as we had done with our Deluxe AP so was convinced we had done something wrong or it was different with the Siignature pass for whatever reason.
