And so why are you just not looking at resale? Or maybe you are. There seem to plenty of good VGC deals out there...

This was my question as well! Although the direct price is almost as much as some of the resales out there currently - may as well get the direct benefits if that's the case.

We use points for cruises regularly- my understanding is resale does not allow for this. Although it's true we just need more points in general. If I did resale, then the resale VGC would be dedicated to our year Disneyland trips, and our other points we currently have could be reserved for our other vacations. We live on the west coast and purchased at Aulani direct previously.
