Is it possible to buy tickets for a dessert party the day of the party?

Specifically wondering about the Star Wars party.

If so, when's the cut off and what's the process if buying the day of?

Unlikely. If there is no availability online before the party, it is sold out.

They typically sell out weeks in advance, but you could check day-of availability with the hotel concierge (if staying on-site) or Guest Relations at the park.

I've done it but it's rare that there is still room. you want to plan this as far ahead as possible. Make sure you have MDE with you or whatever you are handed if you do it in person, generally your not listed on the attendance paper they check you in with and you need to prove you have tickets (if you get them)

If you are going to wait until you are inside the park you can go to guest relations and if there's availability they can book it there
You are not able to book it through mde but will need to use your browser on your phone to book it that way if you want to try before you head inside the park, or if you're staying at a disney hotel the concierge desk can help you

I was able to book the Epcot dessert party on my phone after 7 p.m. same day while in line at FEA and it started at 8 p.m. It's not as popular as the others so wasn't sold out. I'm thinking if there is availability at the dessert party you want you can book up until it begins. As previously mentioned, I wasn't on their printout but just showed them the confirmation on my phone and it was o.k.
