buying beach club question.

We (being the DVC addicts that we are) have finally decided to make our add on to BCV. This was one of those ....we are totally comfortable with the amount of points that we currently own ... but how do you pass up BEACH CLUB. This is truely the sign of addiction. Actually we were wondering that if we made this purchase, we could convince MS to put a buying freeze on our account so that we'd be locked at that point level (for atleast a while ).

For as much as my wife and I read this board, I'm embarrassed that we do not already know the answer to this:

Is the magical begginings still available for BCV purchaces? We are looking to make our add on of 150 pts soon.

and ...

does anyone know, how soon after signing we can make a reservation on those points. Does the closing have to be final before those points are available? We are wanting to use the 11 month window to make a 4th of July ressie next year. My wife thought she heard that if you have signed, the'd make the reservation pending closing. Think that is possible?

I believe the current magical beginnings for BCV is $5 per point. Hardly worth it considering you are paying $3.81 (?) dues on them. You would be giving up 150 points for $750 and still be paying dues.

When you buy direct from DVC, you can make a reservation as soon as they have the deposit. If you make the deposit by credit card or in person, it would be the same day.

Thanks, DebbieB. This is exactly what we thought, but just wanted to confirm before we get down there. Only 3 more weeks before we are "home"!! We need more points like I need a hole in my head, but I honestly just can't resist BCV!!

Has DVC ever made MB more attractive after the initial offering, perhaps in order to try to move inventory or sell out a resort?

For right now I doubt they will lower the MB's for the BCV's because sales are moving fairly good, which they usually do for on-site DVC. We just purchased earlier this year(Jan) at VB and got $13 off for MB's ($62 pt), I think HH is $10 off right now for MB's. So I wouldn't get your hopes up for an on-site DVC with a big MB's price.
