Buying AP's on 12 Payments?

I read somewhere that DL was going to offer paying for your AP in monthly payments next year. Anyone else hear that? I have to buy 5 and that would help a lot!

Yes, I did read that. I think I read about it on mouseplanet. It would be a help, wouldn't it?!

I think that would be a great idea if they did that! It would make it so much more manageable for people who want AP's to get them, or for those who want to get new APs to do it. I think Disney is finally realizing that the prices they charge for everything are not going to fly with people as the economy is taking a nose dive, people are unemployed and big companies are going under! It is a terrible time for many folks. They have to find ways to make the costs more palatable for guests or they will lose a lot of their attendance!

I definitely read about it, either on mouseplanet or micechat. I think the specifics were that your first payment is the amount of a one-day ticket (don't know if it's one-park or hopper), and the rest of the payments are the remainder, divided up.

I think it sounds nice, but it wouldn't work for us. It would feel just like having to buy tickets all the time, and it wouldn't be the same thing, mentally, for us. But I'm glad it's going to be out there for people whose emotional/fiscal brains work differently!

I was excited about the possibility of getting our AP's this way until I read that it was for So. Cal. residents only.

I'm with Bumbershoot. I pay for something all at once or not at all. Except my house. ;) I can see why it would be for S. Cal. only. Other people might be so far away they forget about DL and don't make the payments. My brain doesn't work that way either. :)

It's only for So Cal residents?? YUCK!!!! Geez man, us Nor Calers can't catch a break with Disney!! This would help me a lot since I've got 4 passes to buy.

I hope they do offer it. :goodvibes What's so funny is I sent an email to Disney about something else but I mentioned doing 12 monthly payments like Sea World does (without a service charge) and how nice it would be if Disney did it as well. It just makes sense (and cents!)

Speaking of not catching a break, but a little OT - I am still trying to figure out the zip code criteria required for guests to participate in the current survey at the DLH that gets you a $100 gift card! A few different guests have reported being approached at DLR in the last week by CMs wanting to know what their zip codes were and what type of ticket they used to get in. If they meet the criteria, they can do a 75-minute survey in the DLH and get a $100 gift card. One poster said that she was declined for some reason by the CM who came up to her, but her husband, who presumably had the same answers as she did, was accepted by a different CM and asked to participate!!

My friend was approached just as we entered DL on the morning of Saturday, October 4, and I recall seeing a CM with a clipboard look at her ticket. Then she asked her what her zip code what and that didn't meet the criteria (my friend lives in Anaheim , right down the street from DLR) and they sent her on her way.

Now, I have to admit, I would have been bummed out if my friend got a $100 gift card and I didn't, after all the time and money I have devoted to DLR trips, but I am not sure if she was disqualified because she has an Anaheim zip code or maybe because she has a SoCal zip code.

Maybe, in this case, the NorCal residents would have come out ahead, Pixiewings71!!!! They may not have been looking for locals for this survey! They are giving a gift now because they said it is hard to get folks to agree to take surveys. Meanwhile I take surveys all the time for free, and I am just waiting to be approached for something like that! In fact, I WAS approached at DCA to do a survey but it was an email survey about the TOTP, and no gift was involved, darn it:mad: I can't get Dreamed to save my life and I don't get offered the $100 survey:mad:

I agree with your sentiments, Pixie! geese! How about discounts for people that live in Ca. period! Not just So.Ca. residents.

I can't get Dreamed to save my life

I am so right there with you, Sherry! That and on my last trip, I did par take in several surveys, which I received a polite thank you, upon completing. I would have loved to have received, oh say, a certificate for a candy apple at Marcelines Confectionery, with said thank you. :)

I think this idea would be awesome and make it more affordable for those with a big family. Hopefully, Disney will do a payment plan in the future.

Those $100 gift cards (and believe it or not, a couple of folks who reported being approached by the CMs to go to the DLH and take the survey TURNED IT DOWN!!!) are very valuable for many reasons at DLR. You can pay for your DLR meals with them, pay any extra charges incurred on your DLR hotel bill with them, you can, of course, buy snacks and merchandise (like those yummy looking caramel apples!), buy from Disneyshopping online - I can't believe anyone turned them down! Even a $50 card would have been good! People get turned off by the the 75 minutes, I think, but for $100 in Disney money, that is MORE than worth it to me! Even if it were my last day in the park and my time was limited, I would find 75 minutes to do the survey because that gift card can also be used on a future trip!

Wow, people actually turned down that wonderful offer! Not I! I would have asked, now, exactly where do I go? and can I go another time or day possibly? I would have so been there to take the survey! Marcelines here I come! One bite fits all! he he! :)
Maybe the people that turned that gracious offer down, were people that had wallets that were just so heavy from all of the cash that they were carrying? ;)

Well, since our passes are expired and we aren't sure when we can renew I probably won't get offered that survey. Altho I did a number of free ones when we had our passes, both in the parks and online. :)
