Buying AP after check in and dvc

Okay, so we have free dining ressie at the WL with 10 day hoppers for me, dh, dd, ds and dd who is 2.

Now, on our first day there we will be signing our contract to be dvc members. And, apparently DVC members get $100 off the price of an AP.

So, can I go ahead and, after we are officially DVC members, use the purchase price of our 10 hoppers AND the $100 DVC credit to buy an AP, and if so, would you know how much that would be? Thanks

You might want to ask this question on the DVC board, but, I would think that the contract not only has to be signed, but also has to go through approval etc. before you can actually use DVC perks. That can take longer then 10 days. Even if you're paying cash I think this would be the case.... but I'm not sure so please, go over to the DVC board and check. Someone there is bound to know for sure.

you can't get the free dining AND the AP's...the free dining is only with rack rate and MYWTickets AP's don't qualify for free dining. Since you would need to have a DVC reservation at a DVC you couldn't get the DDP even if you paid as your reservation is outside the DVC..least as I understand things.
Once you make a DVC reservation you can get the DDP. You can get AP's anytime once your membership is official. If you are buying thru Disney, you can make reservations starting the day you sign on the dotted line.

You may be able to buy your AP voucher to use on a future trip if that helps?

This is a stab in the dark, however, if you buy into DVC on Tuesday, sign all the papers and so forth while at Disney, they should give you a temporary membership card right there on the spot. IF so, then I would go to guest services, tell them that I wanted to trade in the tickets for the AP and show them your membership card. The worse they can say is no.
