Buying annual pass at MCO

Mousesavers.com says that you can purchase AP at the Disney stores at MCO. It says they sell activated passes only but can not activate vouchers. Has anyone bought their AP's there and any trouble? Seems more convenient than getting a voucher from Disney and then activating it at a park or DTD. Also, I have heard you can check in with just a voucher and come back to show the actual pass later. Has anyone done this? Thanks.

My DW and I did that just this year for the first time.

Walked off the plane, took the little shuttle to the main airport building (where baggage claim is) and strolled into the MCO "Disney Store".

Asked the cast member if they sold AP's.
He said SURE!
Took our info.
We paid.
He gave us our new (activated on that day) AP's.
Took escalators down to baggage claim area,
were greeted by Tiffany Towncar driver,
got our luggage,
rode to All Star Sports,
checked-in,
short trip to room,
back to the bus loading area,
bus to MK.
New AP's into "scanner",
fingers into "reader" and
we were THERE!

Total elapsed time from plane, to buying new AP's, to hotel room, to being inside MK...
1 hour, 50 minutes.

Cool!

And as to checking in without having bought the AP's first...

I HAVE checked in at the hotel with the lower AP rate without first buying the APs.

The desk clerk did not ask to see the passes (even though she DID mention that we were at AP rates.)
The computer system has all of our info (from being PAST AP holders/guests) and I guess from our 9-night/10-day reservations Disney knows that we WILL need some form of ticket media.
I doubt that too many folks try to "pull a fast one" and slide by w/o purchasing an AP after making the special AP ressies.
Your computer info would "catch" you during the stay anyway.

I spent over an hour at MCO trying to purchase my AP in both stores, but they finally decided the system was down :sad2: . When I checked in at ASMo at about 8pm I told them about it and they let me check-in without my pass at AP rates.

I like the idea of getting the AP at MCO, buthow do you get the DDE card if you do that?

I bought my AP pass at MCO just a few weeks ago..It was very easy to do and hardly any wait.
When I checked into both POP and AKL they did not ask to see anything and I had a AP rate. I will be there a few times this year so AP is worth it for me...
