Hi all,

seeing as I had my backpack (including my mp3 player) stolen last friday night I have decided to buy an ipod nano while we are in Florida in July.

Can anyone suggest a good place to buy one in Orlando? (Millenium mall, Pointe Orlando?)
Is there anything else I need to consider?:confused3

I guess I will need to buy an adapter so that I can use it in the uk, so will a standard travel adaptor do the trick?:scratchin

Any advice is welcome!! :)

The Millenium Mall and The Florida Mall both have an Apple Store so you could get one there :)

try the apple store at mall of Millenia or Florida Mall. No adaptors are needed they work fine over here, I have bought 3 over there and had no problems, warranty is worldwide.

Apple Store in Florida Mall or Millenia should be fine.

When you factor in the tax and a slight concern about after sales service, I think I would still buy over here in the UK.

In any event, no adapter is necessary - just a USB to your computer (as I guess you already know!:) )

Thanks. I think we went in the apple store at millenia last time we were out there.

I saw a nano on amazon(us) for $98 which equates to about £53 at the mo. The same item was £75 on our Amazon. So it sounds like it is worth buying one over there.

Sorry I forgot they are charged via the USB port ! Doh!

See this thread from a few weeks back
Remember sales tax to add in Florida.
Before you buy over there check pricerunner.co.uk or Kelkoo.
Use a cashback site they always have Vouchers for things like 10% off electrical shops on top off any rebate they are offering on the company you are buying from usually another 3-6%. rpoints or Quidco are the best 2 in UK.

If you do find it much cheaper in US I would be very suprised but make sure you throw the packaging and post your receipt back home or they can get you on import duty depending on how much you buy over there.
Good luck

My son was after a Nano last year. We priced one in the Apple store in the Florida Mall and priced it on Amazon UK at the same time (free access on Apple computers to the internet). There was only a £10 difference so felt it was better to wait till we got home in case there were any problems.

Mmmmmm, perhaps you are right. Maybe I'll look at buying one over here. Although it always seems easier to spend dollars rather than pounds!

The 8gb Nano is £143 at Dixons tax free shop but only £135 on-line so I don't think I'll bother waiting until I get to the airport!

Plus you can start loading it up with songs now ready for holiday.:)

I would be a bit wary buying anything from Pixmania. I was looking for a new camera at Christmas and these were the cheapest but I searched for reviews of the company. There were a load of bad reviews which put me off buying from them. They are based in France too.

I bought a digital camera from them before Christmas. Very happy with this company. Ordered on the Monday night and camera arrived on the Wednesday morning.

my cousin bought an Ipod nano at wallmart whe we were there in December, and im sure she said it worked out around £35 cheaper - sh has no problems with it so far.....touch wood!!!

Depends how you are comparing prices. eg a ipod nono 4gb in Walmart is £110 incl tax. The same one here is £157 http://www.ite2u.co.uk/product_info.php/products_id/115
but Techfever do it for £112 delivered.
If you look hard enough very similar prices can be found in UK. Or cheaper if you find online vouchers and discount codes..
