Buying an AP

I've seen all kinds of signs at DLR that said "Put the full purchase price of today's ticket towards an annual pass".

If a person's gone multiple times, can they put each ticket towards an AP??

No ;) If you would like to upgrade to an AP (or just to a park-hopper of a longer duration), you have to do so BEFORE the end of your last day, so if you have a one-day ticket, you'd have to do it the day you use it. If you have a two-day ticket or so on, you just have to upgrade before the end of your last day.

Crap, that's annoying! I was planning on taking DD one more time, and, while I've meant to do the upgrade for me about a million times, I just never got around to it... The time I added days onto my park hopper, the ticket agent dude at DLR said I could upgrade from a park hopper to an AP at any point before the first day of my first park hopper pass, and it would be good through that date... In other words, if our first day was 3/4/12, he said I could upgrade at any point, and my AP would be good through 3/3/13. I apparently REALLY misunderstood what he was telling me! Oh well! Thanks for the information!

Oh dear lol. Yes. He meant at any point DURING YOUR VISIT, not at any point well, ever ;) To explain what he meant... if you have a three-day ticket for example and you use it first on 3/4/12, if you upgrade on your last day of the visit, 3/6/12, then the AP would still expire one year from your first use, 3/4/13, not one year from the day you upgraded.

Well, rats! I can see what he meant, but he should have told you to upgrade before you finished your last day. Otherwise, you could only imagine the black market in used DL tickets! I don't know if they ever bend the rules, but it doesn't hurt to call and ask.
