We are staying at VGC and have looked over Vons website. They only offer the pina colada TGI Friday mix. I am not a fan of that and was hoping someone here would know if there is any liquor store that is walkable (no rental car) that may have a better selection. I am so looking forward to a blended frozen drink to sip on the balcony especially since i found out the resort will supply the blender!! :cool1:

I am not exactly sure, but I think people have used Wonderland Liquor because they deliver for free (if I remember right). Hopefully someone who has used them or another store will be along shortly to give their recommendation! :)

I don't know how you are traveling to DL, so my suggestion would be that you bring your favorite concoction with you :goodvibes

Not sure about this but get a drink at the bar and take it upstairs to your villa and sip away. Also Wonderland does deliver or did. More like a 7-11 with lots of booze, typical for the LA area.

unfortunately flying.. :sad2:

Could you pack it sealed in your suitcase (in a ziplock bag for extra security?). I took a few little single serve bottles of white wine on our last trip (packed in my suitcase for our flight) to visit my in-laws. And yes, I did need it:lmao:

Well I am not really a drinker but last summer found these dreamsicle drinks by TGI Friday and they are now my favorite summer/vacation drink.. Bottle too big to pack and must be refrigerated. Guess i can just get some wine coolers or something easier. Heck iced tea on a balcony in DL is fine too! :rotfl2:

Why not just have Wonderland deliver? Or it looks like on the map that they are not far from your hotel if you have a car or hopped in a cab.:goodvibes

I prefer to make my own drinks anyway so I can put exactly what I want in it.

Go for it and have fun, it's vacation!!!:cool1:

Pina Colada:
pineapple juice
ice
rum
coconut syrup
splash milk

Voila...Blend and sip on your patio!!!

ps everything avail from Vons;)

At the risk of sounding like a total lush, I will say that we brought a bottle of our favorite vodka (checked in our luggage) and then also bought some stuff at Wonderland when we went to visit some friends in Brentwood. I like having what I like on hand, so I always pack my own (wrapped in plastic) and then use that until I can stock up. We also get drinks at Hearthstone, but that gets expensive quickly.

There is also an ABC liquor store on Harbor and next to it a 7-11.

Oh cool... Is that walkable from GC? :confused3 (newbie here..lol)

It is. But it would be easier to walk to Wonderland Liqour. That is roughly at The intersetion of Walnut St. and Katella. Either way you would walk down Disneyland Dr. (which is the street the GCH fronts) to Katella. Short block to the west is Walnut where Wonderland is. Long block to the East is the ABC market and 7eleven. Though I took pictures in both of these stores at the corner of Harbor and Katella last fall and can't see TGIF mixers in the picures.

Wow thanks for the great info! Might have to "suffer" with some other kind of beverage..lol!

If I wasn't clear. I didn't see the TGIF mix in my pictures at the ABC market which otherwise has a broad array of liqour. But still it is probably worth it to check in Wonderland liqour. It's many steps closer anyway.

Ok will try... Our flight lands at 8:45 a.m. so we will have lots of time before check in and my dh said he'll go for a walk... I just figure if we can't find the orange TGI Friday mix I will move on to something else :) thanks again!

there is always the hotel goft shop at GCH, they have bottles of wine for sale!

I'm assuming the walk to Wonderland would be worth it (aka worth spending some time to save a bit of $$) to stock up on Diet Coke rather than buying what's available at the VGC store? I know I've read Wonderland also has some food items available (in addition to the usual convenience store snacks) too so would probably get a few things along those lines. How's water from the tap in VGC and the parks? Is it fine cold or flavoring packets added or should we buy some bottled water too?

I myself have no problem with park water, to me it's fine, but I live here in socal ...but I have read that guests do bring the case of water bottles..so it's really your choice.. :shamrock:
