I just resently purchased a small contract (VWL) and thought I read some where that once your a DVC member you can buy addtional points for that resort stright from DVC. That the min. was like 25 points....Is this True?

Thanks

Oh it's true, it's true!

What he said - with a few more details, LOL.

25 is the minimum number of points for an add on contract if you pay cash. If you want Disney financing, the minimumis 50. There are often higher minimums to take advantage of special offers / incentives that may be available at the time you purchase.

You may have to wait to purchase more points - Disney will only sell you the same use year as your original contract unless you buy at least 150 points and insist on a different one. Disney may not have points in its inventory for your use year and desired resort.

You mean if my use year was July. I would have to buy another July contract to get addtional points from Disney?

DVC will sell add-ons with the same Use Year as your master contract - unless you are purchasing more than 150 (where you could select any Use Year). Sometimes, some Use Year are not available at the "sold-out" and you might need to wait until your Use Year becomes available- either thru ROFR or thru foreclosure by DVC.

There are no incentives for purchase at resorts other than SSR at this time, but DVC will usually have some price incentive for add-ons at any resorts currently being sold (right now, that's only SSR).

Just call your guide and see if your Use Year is available and go from there.

Enjoy! :)
