buying a resale

Ok, my husband just asked a question and I'm real curious to know the answer. We are already planning on buying more points through a resale at an older resort. Not sure when that will actually happen, but well, it's fun to plan!
Anyway, if we buy say a point resale for BCV, is it possible to combine those points with our current ones or is it always separate? Say, for example, we want to stay at SSR and we have 50 points-need 100, can we use the points from that bcv resale?
As I'm writing this, i can see there being an issue with the 11month/7month thing. Hmm.

Separate at 11 months and combined at 7.

No, points from different resorts may only be combined at 7 months. They can be used at their respective resorts at 11 months.

You can only combine them to book after the 7 month window. Prior to that the points can be used only at the DVC resort they are from so the 11 month advantage is only for the home resort.
