I know a lot of people on this board have Kindles and iPhones, so I figured this would be the place to ask this question. I haven't bought a Kindle yet because I already have an iPhone 4 with the Kindle app, but I am getting more and more tempted to buy one, mostly because of the bigger screen. So what's your opinion? Is it worth it to have both? If I decide to get one, should I go with the Wifi only or the Wifi/3G?
Thanks in advance!
This is just my opinion....
I love reading on the Kindle. It's very much a book-like experience, but you can increase the font, carry 1000's of books at a time, make notes in your book etc.
As for having the Kindle app and a Kindle....I also love this. They two will synch to the furthest page read, so that you can use each at a different time and they will keep track of your place. This allows you to read at home and when you find yourself in line at the bank, waiting at the DRs office, picking up kids etc....you can read a chapter or two on your phone.
The new Kindle available is supposed to have even better clarity, a month long battery life and a much lower price. Mine was $299.00.
I have a 3G model (only model available when I bought) and it works well but, I would also be happy with a wifi only model. I've never really purchased a book on the run, so I'm not sure I'd need to have the extra 3G coverage. I'd be able to load up on books at home (wifi) and have enough to keep me happy for however long it was until I found a wifi spot.
I also have an iPad and much prefer the reading experience of the Kindle. You will need an outside light source to read your Kindle in the dark...but you need a light source to read just about everything in the dark, other than your ipad.
Good luck.
