On our trip to WDW last month, DW planned to buy a kindle while there because of the favourable price etc. The model that Liz wanted was not readily available (the wi/fi 3G one) at some of their branches close to Florida Mall but we eventually found one at Best Buy behind Crave across the road from Mall at Millennia and at an acceptable price - $149.99 compared with approx £169 in the UK. Asking about service, it was clear that we would have to buy an international warranty as the Best Buy warranty wasn't suitable for Brits. The salesman produced a large file from under his arm, turned one a couple of pages and found that Liz could buy one year for $13 or two years for $15 - problem solved. Of course we bought the 2 tear option.

Meanwhile Liz had suggested that I should get one too and after seeing how much I liked hers I decided to buy the wifi version but without 3G which was readily available at all of the Best Buy outlets for $99 (£99 I think in the UK). As we were going to do some shopping at Florida Mall we popped into the Best Buy warehouse directly across Orange Blossom Trail. All was well until we asked about the warranty which was quoted as $20 0r $30 from the salesman's computer screen. No thanks we said, referring to Liz's previous purchase at Millennia. When he asked for proof claiming it was a mistake we walked away to try elsewhere. The small Best Buy outlet in Florida Mall proved even more pointless with a particularly clueless salesman. As a result we finished up back at Mall at Millennia. We were assisted by a different salesman who was also armed with the file under the arm like all his colleagues in this store, the file with the necessary info for the warranty which for my model turned out to be $9 - 1 year or £10 - 2 years ..... RESULT!
So - although the Kindle itself was identically priced at all of their stores, it was for us certainly worth shopping about for the warranty. The store at mall at Millennia seemed more geared towards the international tourist and saved us $20. I hope this post is of some use to others.
