I ahve found the dress I LOVE online.I ahve not been able to find it near me yet! But I am so skeptical of buying somthing so important and expensive online!

Has anyone bought their dress online?

Heard of anyone who has? Was it a good or bad experience?

Carrie (Lurkyloo) and Caryn both bought their gowns online and had no problems.

Hi! I bought my dress from a woman I found online. She has a dress shop in the Midwest, but she sells dresses on eBay too. I was kinda paranoid about keeping all the paperwork and checking up on the dress's progress, but it all went very smoothly. I almost bought another dress online through eBay too - you can check sellers' feedback so you know they're not sketchy.

I also would have been comfortable dealing with any of the reputable online wedding dress retailers, if I'd found a dress there.

Frankly, I was MOST suspicious of buying a dress the traditional way, since I'd heard horror stories about bridal shops jacking up prices and changing dress style numbers so you can't find the real price, or even adding things to your bill without telling you and then not letting you return them...:scared1:

Its not ebay, its just a bridal dress website, how do I know if it is reputable? Im such a nervous nelly!

Best bridal prices . com has anyone used them?

I bought mine online from shopofbrides.com. The dress I originally wanted was sold at the bridal salon so my Grandma searched online and found this website. I was kinda skeptical, but I ordered the dress around the end of December and had received it by January 17th. It was beautiful! I was amazed. :woohoo:

I am glad other people have tried this, I imagine using a major credit card has some type of protection just in case, right?

I used www.bridalonlinestore.com and I had the same concerns you did. However, once I thought about it, the worst case scenario was that I would hate the dress and have to return it, and then be out a 10% restocking fee. Since the dress was only $300 :woohoo: I figured it was worth the risk. I took the measurements the way they recommended and the dress ended up arriving very quickly and it fit PERFECTLY. I didn't even need to get it altered! I ended up buying my tiara from them as well, and I was very satisfied with that as well.

I would say that if you use a credit card to purchase it, and the dress doesn't arrive, you can always tell the CC company not to pay them (I've done that when ordering *other* stuff online that never arrived, and it worked). Check out the way they tell you to take measurements and see if there's any kind of restocking fee in the event you have to return it.

Bottom line... I think I posted something much like you did... and I couldn't have been more satisfied when I decided to take the plunge and do it! GL!

I sort of bought my dress on line. I knew what I wanted, and went to the designer's website and checked which stores sold them. I contacted one in New York City (The Designer Loft), and they were very helpful, gave me the price over the 'net, and were willing to take my order via the internet and telephone (from Guatamala!)

The gown is currently in the able hands of UPS, on the way to my dad's place in Florida. I won't see it till June. That part sucks, but I'm very comfortable with the whole procedure.

If you are concerned about the bussiness being legitimate check with the better bussiness bureau. I have read you should do this with "real" bridal shops as well. I think I may end up going the internet route as well because the prices are better.

Hi,I bought my wedding gown from www.houseofbrides.com
It was easy, I found the dress I liked, looked for bridal shops that carried the dress, made an appointment to try it on, loved it, went home and ordered it online. I ordered it in May and got it in late August. I just went to the website before posting and with select designers you get a free veil and shoes. This might be something you might want to look at. They also had a promotion when I ordered my dress and I got $150 off the dress. The dress that was the one for $450 no tax free shipping opposed to the same dress I could have gotten in an Arizona bridal shop for $1000. I was happy with my purchase. Hope this helps.

we bought our bridesmaid dresses online for my sister's wedding. we got them in time (we did it 6 months ahead) and they look great. they did ship them accidentally to her address instead of all of ours seperately, but the price was fantastic. i will have to get the name of the place from her. it was somewhere in texas. i remember that they have their own store, but they also ship dresses to other states.

to check whether they're reputable, google their name- you can learn a lot about a place by what google says :)

i'd also call and talk to someone there and ask how many dressses they ship out per month. that;s a good indication as to whether it's their primary business or just a side thing.

good luck!

i got mine from christina's bridal on ebay. great experience! the dress was literally 1/2 the price of my local store (where i went to try it on-they were mad, but oh well, they wouldn't match the online price). the dress was brand new and was in all the designers original packaging.
