We have had our van for sale for almost a year. Admittedly we didn't try very hard to sell it. A couple of weeks ago I decided to put it up for sale in Auto Trader and Trading Times using their online feature which allows you to post up to 9 pictures.
We got a call Monday night from a gentleman interested.
DH talks to him off and on this week and arrangements are made for us to drive the van down to his town, about an hour away, and meet up with him so we can go to his Credit Union so he can purchase it. Now he hasn't seen the van yet.
We meet him at an outlet mall near the freeway and follow him to the CU. I had my own car so we could drive back. When we met at the mall he opened the drivers door, looked in and said Okay let's go.
He didn't start the van until after all of the paperwork was done and we were all leaving. Now the van was in great shape, we had just had it detailed so it was clean and runs great. I just don't understand why you would buy something that expensive without at least starting it first.
It turned out that he needed exactly what we had. He has a daughter in a wheelchair and they had a Ford hi-top conversion van for her and her lift system that was damaged in a hit and run in front of their house. In order to transfer the lift system they needed another Ford hi-top conversion van so I am thrilled that it worked out for them. It was so cute, while we were following them to the CU he drove past his house, his daughter was outside so she could see her new van.
