Hey all, urgent help needed! In Orlando now and my camera has died!! The shutter wont open fully :( still got 5 days left and not took any photos of hogwarts and Harry potter land yet so think I'm gona have to get a new camera. Are there any issues getting a camera over here and can anyone recommend where to get one? Walmart? Just looking for a small but decent camera, would love a dsl But I take my camera out on nights out all the time so it's gota be pretty small! I take it there will b no problems with it working at home other than maybe the charger? Thanks in advance!
Jenna
Ps havin a fantastic time, weathers a bit unpredictable but been lovely today! Love bugs finally gone, first were there was loads!!

Have you had the camera out in humid conditions? happened to us in August with one of the compacts, few hours later it was fine again.

I would hate having to buy a camera there, I take months to research my cameras. I would probably just goto Walmart and buy the cheapest Canon, Lumix or any good brand then sell it on return.

Just had a look at stock in Turkey Lake Rd store, nothing jumps out, I never find them cheap over there. For example I looked at Canon A3000 with tax and using an exchange of $1.57 its £78, Argos have it on offer this week at £80.
One thing I wouldn't do is call at the little electronic stores, you have to know what you are doing, I have called in a couple of times for small items and they just tried ripping me off, Camcorder battery (unbranded) $80+tax, ebay were selling at under £10. A std plug adapter you can get for about £2 here they wanted $20 there. So I would stick to a superstore.

I agree with Wayne, avoid the electronic shops, unless you know what you want and what it would cost here.
Walmart usually have a good selection at John Young Pky

at florida mall there is a place called ritz camera we got some dslr bits there a few years back, bit like jessops over here

I have always found Ritz very expensive, maybe they have some offers but every time I compare they are nowhere near other places, will continue with the Canon A3000 example, on their site $149 (plus tax instore) = just over £100, £20 more than Walmart or Argos.

Thanks for the advice, I've left it for over 24 hours now and the shutter still won't open. Think I'm going to wait til I get home then and do some research and maybe get one as a Christmas present instead! The iPhone has been standing in and although it's crap at night it's done pretty well at harry potter today! Thanks all x

I'm a Canon man but colleague at work has bought a Sony compact which GPS tags photos (which is fun) and does panoramas just by panning the camera which also sounds cool. I need to take individual shots and stitch them later plus carry a GPS logger for the location info on my more expensive Canon! I'll get the model if that's the sort of camera you're interested in.
