Originally, DH I booked our stay at BWI for our upcoming trip. Then we moved our reservations to YC. Now I am thinking, I booked the wrong hotel.
Am I going crazy? Has anyone else had this feeling? Am I staying at the right hotel? Is there anyone out there who has stayed at both, give me their opinion which the better hotel? Right now we are staying LVCL @YC.

Thank you!

I understand about your feelings of remorse...I've never stayed at either of your choices, but I'm also a waffler.

I have YC envy! I would love to stay there. I have visited the lobby, gift shop, and Captain's Grill, and I love everything about it! The pictures of the rooms are very appealing, personally speaking. Everyone raves about SAB too (no scary clown!)

Great choice!

K

I've stayed at both and I liked YC better, it seems a little quieter to me and you have a great pool in Stormalong Bay, also I like the rooms better at the YC decorated nicer in my opinion. Also Captains Grille restaurant is awesome!

Stayed at both, and prefer the Yacht Club.

You will love the pool area and great restaurants and the best of the Boardwalk is just a short walk away.

We haven't stayed at either resort, but I have second guessed our resort many times in the past. I've never felt like I wouldn't like a particular resort, but rather couldn't decide which one to choose over another as there are always a few resorts in the running for each trip. With that said, we have been to the Epcot side as we've stayed at the BC before and are booked at YC CL in July 2013. I think you would like either resort as they are both beautiful and are within walking distance to two parks, so I don't think either one would be a bad choice.

I've stayed at BWI and BC but not YC. IMHO YC/BC wins out simply due to the dining options. Having Captains Grill and Cape May right there makes it an easy decision. I wasn't happy with BWI's dining, or lack of. I know that you have access to everything on the Boardwalk but if it is raining (and it was pouring) and all you want is a hot breakfast -- good luck. You made the right choice.

Also, walking to Epcot and HS seems easier from YC/BC although I am not sure why.

Stayed at both plus BC. I like all three. The main benefit IMO of YC is that you are assured of a full balcony.

I have stayed at both resorts. I love them both. We just stayed at YC CL in May and loved the resort, but thought the CL was just ok. We have stayed at BWI twice, but not CL yet. It's next on my list. All the reviews I have read about BW CL have been favorable.

If you do stay at Yc. I would request a room close to lounge. We were about 5 doors down from the lounge in a Lv room. The hallways at both resorts can be ridiculously long. The only negative thing I have read about the BW cl is that the lounge is a long walk from the lobby and pool. The Yc lounge is right off the elevators. If you have any specific questions about Yc cl ask away I'll be happy to answer them for you.

For club lounge, I like BWI better than YC. However I like the pool better at YC. For my upcoming trip I decided to do a split stay to get the best of both.

We have stayed at both plus BC and you wouldn't be disappointed with either. We stayed at the YC for the first time in June and it was really really nice. The rooms were large, the beds were really comfy, and the CMs were extremely friendly - all the way to the housekeeping CMs. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. We think the Epcot resorts are the best ones Disney has to offer - and yes we have stayed at all the ones on the monorail. We just prefer the entire Epcot resort area and all the resorts there.

Haven't stayed at BWI, it just doesn't appeal to me, but loved BCCL. Love the location, best pool on property, and quieter then boardwalk area. Also like the dining options.

I've stayed at all the Epcot resorts, and haven't had a bad stay at any of them. So I would stop the second guessing and just enjoy your trip. Next time, if you want, you can try BWI and see how they compare. I was at BW in January and I'll be at BC next month, and I'm hoping for a room only discount for either BW or YC for December. They're all good!

I always seem to second quess myself. Now there are some resorts that I like more than others but I try not to worry to much about it.

You'll enjoy YC, it's a very beautiful resort. Not as "lively" as Broadwalk though. I love the pool better than the clown pool.

I have total buyer's remorse about the Poly. Hopefully once we get there, I won't feel that way, because I've always wanted to stay there, even for our honeymoon. That said... we paid rack rate for the room because we were getting free dining, and it was on the monorail loop, and I'm pregnant and we thought it'd be easier than waiting for buses, and it's supposed to be a once in a lifetime trip, yada yada. Then I upgraded to CL because DH loves CL... then I downgraded CL and upgraded dining... Blah. I'm a moderate girl at heart. Coronado Springs FTW! The deluxes are nice but the cost, yegads, I can think of SO many things I could spend the money on instead, and I really like some of the mods!! DH is getting excited about the deluxe now though, so I can't really downgrade. :sad2: I'm sure we'll love it, but I just see little dollar bills floating around, off into the void...

BTW, the Yacht Club is really lovely. The Beach Club has also really grown on me. When I first went there (never stayed, but we went to it plenty as the kids loved the Sandcastle Club there) I thought it was kind of boring, because I'm from New England and a lot of hotels on the beach really did have a similar feel. But after I went there a few times, I realized just how lovely they were. I'd love to stay at either when the kids are a bit older. (Though I'd probably have buyer's remorse about them too, lol.)

I totally agree. I found the dining options at BWI very lacking at breakfast. When it rained I found it very depressing to have to leave the resort to find a meal. We had parkhoppers so we found ourselves going to Epcot for some meals ... ate up a lot of time.

I'm struggling with the same type of decision.

I'm in love with the idea of a Poly/BC split stay, in large part, due to the convenience factor. We have young kids who don't handle staying up late very well. In the past, we've stayed moderate and just gone back to our resort early. However, we have a very special trip planned this upcoming December with my parents and we really want to see Wishes and Illuminations.

We always rent a double stroller, so if we do a Poly/BC split and the kids happen to fall asleep in the stroller, we can simply roll them back to our room after Wishes or Illuminations without even having to take them out of the stroller. In addition, we don't have to get up so early the next morning because our resort is more convenient to the park.

If this were an adults-only trip, I'd have no problems staying moderate. But the convenince factor really temps me to do the deluxe split (plus, I've never stayed deluxe, have always dreamed of staying at these two resorts, and this is a very special trip). But then I think, am I nuts to spend this much extra mostly for convenience purposes?

I would always take YC over BWI. I like the looks of YC better, they have better pools. You have to go onto the Boardwalk to eat at BWI, while everything is contained at YC.

The only plus the BW has is the BW itself, and it's only a 5-10 minute walk to do that from YC.

I've stayed at all three Epcot resorts multiple times. They are all great resorts and I have enjoyed my time at all of them.

YC is my favorite of the three, at least in large part due to this is where I stayed for my first ever trip to WDW. BWI is second, with BC third. They all have their pros and cons, but you really can't go wrong with any of them.

DH and I stay at YC all the time and it is our favorite resort. I didn't see it mentioned but they also have a quiet pool with a hot tub that you can use, if you don't want all the noise from SAB. It's by the laundry area.

There are cards stating you can order food/drinks and they will deliver for you. Either way it's a great place for a relaxing afternoon away from the pool.

I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents, if you even care. We just spent 11 days at the WL last month. First deluxe stay, even did CL. We went back and forth on whether it would be "worth it" and finally decided to go for it! Well, I know this is purely subjective, but to us, staying deluxe was 100% worth it. Our Disney experience was sooooo much different this time around (we usually stay values, and stayed at CBR last year). The convenience, the layout, just everything was wonderful. So much so, that our trip next year, we have booked POLY CL. I think we have become spoiled by that experience. You'll never know unless you try it!
