Buyer Backed Out - Help

I need help – I was selling my video camera and the high bidder e-mailed me just after placing a bid and told me he made a mistake - it was the wrong camera type.

It was too late for him to retract and I hoped he would be out bided. He was not.

I offered a second chance to the next highest bidder. How does that work? I e-mailed her about it but I have not heard back. Do you have much luck with second chance offers or am I going to have to end up re-listing the item and waiting another 7 days?

Too late now, but I believe you as the seller could have cancelled his bid before the sale ended even if it was too late to retract it. You might try reading the eBay help for future reference, but that won't help you now.

I've bought things on second chance offers before, so maybe the bidder just hasn't seen your email yet.

I did not know about retracting a bid!!

I have had success with second chances, though. People have been happy to accept the second chance offer. Live and learn, I am afraid!

Make sure you file a Non Paying Bidder on the first guy so you get your final value fees back on that transaction.
