Buy where you stay? HH vs OKW??

After our last trip to HH, when my wife fell in love with the place, the possibility of an add-on has become real.

We're still not there yet, but I'm thinking about it and wondering whether to add on more points at OKW or buy at HH, which is the place my wife loves. (Her favorite resort at WDW is OKW by far.)

Even though I believe in "buy where you're gonna stay" -- and we'll definitely be using points at HH -- I'm leaning toward buying at OKW because:

We are going to want OKW Grand Villas at times -- possibly holiday times once in a while.

I think we're MORE likely to stay at HH outside of the hot, hot summer months -- which I think would be less popular times and easier to get at 7 months.

I have two concerns:
1. How hard is it to get a summer 2BR at HH at 7 months?
2. How hard is it to get a HH GV any time?

Any input appreciated.

I would go with HH because you never know when you just might want to go during the summer.

Summer have lots to do at HH.

when I was there in winter and fall -there were empty GV that we were allowed to look at.

although I do love OKW - it is one of the BEST DVC resort!!!

I've been wondering this same thing! DH and I have all our current pts at BWV. If we added on tomorrow, we would do so (availability permitting) at either OKW or HHI... SSR would be a long shot (it does have that whole extra 12 yrs thing going for it, lol).

Our last add-on was a small amt of points so we went ahead and got them at BWV so as to keep all our pts in one place. BUt now, I can definitely see some advantage to divide and conquer. It would be so great to get an OKW GV or to not dial every day just to get my hands on a 2BR at HHI (BTW -- we are headed to HHI in 2 weeks. Made our ressies day-by-day at the 7 mos window. It can be done, but the fact that we wanted a 2Br probably helped matters, too.) Or to get a HHI GV at THanksgiving...very nice. We wouldn't get a large # of pts -- maybe 120 or so. That way, every 3 years, we would have about 360 pts, which would get us 5 or 6 nts in a GV at either place most any week except prime time, or get a 2BR at HHI every other year during moderate season (like spring break, or THanksgiving).

QUestion is -- which resort -- OKW or HHI?

Either should be OK. But what I'd do depends on when you'd go. For anytime other than mid June to mid August, you should be OK with any points. If you want a 2 BR most trips, you should have NO problems at all outside mid summer. If you want to go early Dec or Jan to early March, I'd buy another II time share and trade in. But if you buy HH, you will have additional options you do not have now. If you want to rent extra points, I'd say it's pretty neutral between the two. The dues should be about the same. OKW sill be easier to resell.
