Buy or Rent Stroller for Triplets??

Eeeshh! What to do? We are going to WDW in Sept with our 4.5 year old triplets...do I buy(hopefully borrow from friends!) and twin and single stroller or rent in Disney? Would it be a big pain hauling two strollers on the buses and back to our room? Does anyone know how much is would cost per day at WDW to rent a double and single? thanks so much!

Do you think they would be in the strollers a lot or just when they are tired? Do you want them to be able to nap in them?
I don't have triplets, or even 3 kids, so I'm far from an expert, but I wonder if you could make do with 1 double stroller (either rented or brought from home) and them taking turns. It's possible that the 3 of them could squish in one of the rented doubles together for short stretches.

Hello there! We are also blessed with triplets and they just turned 4 last week. We are going in October and they will be 4.5 and we are planning to bring a double and single like we have the last 2 years. I have never rented but it seems easier to get through the airport and have as soon as we get off the plane. We don't take the bus. We rented a limo the last 2 years. I was up in the air whether or not to bring strollers but I rather play it safe.

If you think they will be walking into and out of the park, then renting is easier than getting strollers on and off busses. If you drive to each park then bringing your own is easy, no collapsing on busses, but that only works if you park close enough to walk and can avoid the trams.

Our 3 youngest share a double. One can sit at the feet of the others if need be, or they just rotate. I found that all 3 did not usually want to ride at the same time anyway. I even sat in it for a while and let ds7 push me around. The CMs had fun with that site!!

I only have one so can't give advice on three but I have seen three kids squished into a double so it can be done. I'm not sure how comfy it would be for more than a few minutes though. I also have seen two kids sitting in a double not getting along - I feel for the parents in that case!

Hi! I have GGGB quadruplets and debate this everytime I go. My kids just turned 4 on May 20th. We are going again in Sept. and that will be their 4th trip. I bring my own. For the first 2 trips I brought my Graco double stroller for all 4 of them. My last trip there this past Feb. I bought the Sit and Stand @ Target for like $119 two days before we left and I'm glad I did. I think it is much lighter than my Graco doubles. My son sits in the front because he is much larger than my girls. The bench seat in the back is great, I usually have 2 of my girls sit side by side and they fit with no problems. The kids do rotate walking and when I need them together all 3 girls do fit on the back. 1 either sits the opposite way (facing front) with her feet in the underbasket area or standing on the platform. I make them ALL stay on it @ the airport while checking in. They do make a triplet Sit and Stand too, it has 2 seats and the bench on the back. They are hard to find and usually cost $300-$500. I think Joovy makes one as well. I though for the cost of paying for rentals, I'd spend the $119 and have it to keep. It is nice to have when they fall asleep on the busses and I can load them onto it and walk back to the hotel room. My thoughts are: If it becomes too much taking it to and from the park, I can always leave it in the room, BUT never have. I usually park it in 1 area like in Fantasyland, let the kids walk from ride to ride and when we are finished in Fantasyland, load them up and move on to our next destination. I hope this helps.

We have BBG triplets who turn 7 this month. Their first trip in Dec 05 they were 5.5. One of my sons has CP, so we brought his single stroller. We rented a double in the park for the other 2. It was $18 per day, or $16 per day if you bought multiple day stroller pass. We loved the double, and it worked great. We went Sept 06 and did the same thing. We are going again in Sept, and we'll just bring our single for DS. I think the other 2 will be fine walking. We will take advantage of the FREE stroller rental during the MNSSHP for all of them.

I don't have triplets, but three close in age (twins and then another 17 months younger). For our last trip, we rented one double, and all 3 kids rode in it at the same time (they were 4,4, almost 3). We plan on doing the same thing this trip (they'll be 5,5, almost 4).

Given the ages of your kids when you go, I would just rent one double. They will probably all fit, and if not, they're big enough where they can take turns (we did this a bit on our last trip too). To me, bringing two strollers from home sounds like a huge PITA for the busses--especially since they'll be old enough to walk from the bus to the resort. I wouldn't mess with bringing from home unless they were age 3 or younger.

thanks so much! Did anyone ever find that all the double strollers were gone to rent?! I'm not so much worried about the mornings at the parks, but when we return in the evening...I don't know what I'd do!

We are in the same situation with twin girls DD5 (as of 9/2) and a son DS2.5. After much discussion my DW took the initiative and bought a MacClaren MAC3 which we will be using and renting a double on length of stay discount. I had wanted just to take an umbrella stroller and may still (as it is easy to transport), but was overruled due to no storage or canopy and we needed a single at home anyway. Given my (wrong) position last September of no stroller rental (which was changed the first day), I defered to the expert.

Our plans include two days where one parent takes the twins to Blizzard Beach while the other parent takes DS on a park hopping adventure. So a single will come in handy as we will need it for our DS for 4 days while the girls only need it for two days. Thank goodness MNSSHP strollers are free!

Wow you are blessed! I have 2 girls ages 3 & nearly 6 when we went to disney, I priced renting a stroller in the prk yikes! So I can not imagine 2 would be better news! I had a kolcraft double it cost under $50, even if you purchase it now and it folds up nicely, it was a life saver and it saved me alot of money rather than renting. we are going next year and I will use it again, the weight says up to 80lbs, they will be over but for the occasional ride and rest it will be great!

I guess I have to say I like having my stroller at all times, airport, resort, and parks. With three I can see the expense tho, unless you can borrow.

I highly recommend Maclaren volos as a wonderful sturdy light weight option. You can buy 2 singles and hook them together and use a cheapy umbrella for the3rd one (but I promise no one will want to push that cheapy one after one push of the Maclaren. ) If you are not planning on breaking up and going in different directions a 3rd might be unnessary as kiddos could take turns (my niece has triplets and she usually shared a double for the three of them)

only you know your kids tho, mine always want to ride in Disney even tho they don't at home.

another thing about maclaren volos is they are less than $100 and are so lightweight even I can carry them on my shoulder for getting on and off buses.

purchasing also gives you option of using them in airport, resort , off site, and later (or even before trip!) at home. resale value is great.

I would rent a double jogging stroller and a single jogging stroller from ABBF. They have the kind with the turning front wheel, and it is very, very nice.

A double and a single will give you a little more flexability (splitting up for short periods, bathroom runs, etc.) than one triplet stroller.

We have used ABBF's double jogger and it is very comfortable, easy to manuever, and goes on and off all the transportation easily. Plus, their rates are less expensive than the park's, so you have a better stroller for less $$$.

I agree. The double jogger that ABBF rents is very easy to move about, and has lots of storage underneath. We were very pleased with the cleanliness and comfort of the stroller. It was also alot more lightweight than I would have imagined. It was really nice to have it all the time throughout our stay instead of having to return a stroller at each park and then wait in line to get another. Very pleasant experience and worth every penny.

We jsut returned last week and did the same thing. Really nice double jogger beats the heck out of the plastic strollers the park offers. And having it all the time is the only way to go! <------ my two reviewers!

ABBF's website description (http://www.abbf.com/equipment.php?item=joggerx2) states 45 lbs. each side. You may want to call them also; I have spoken with them and they have always been very nice.
