Buy DVC from third party

Forgive me if this question has been asked alot. Can you get a better price on a DVC timeshare if you purchase from a third party versus Disney direct? If so, why wouldn't most people do that?

I am new to the whole DVC so sorry if it is a stupid question.

You can purchase DVC via "resale" but the trick is that Disney reserves Right of First Refusal. So you can negotiate a great deal, but then Disney will buy it back instead, taking advantage of your "great deal".
