If you have bought your tickets already. It is very unlikely they expire. However, I would not upgrade til you get to one of the parks. Last year I believe I saw signs that said upgrade your ticket for 45 dollars into a power pass. Did anyone else see the same sign last year. With the recent rate increases this might have went up.
