Butterfly Ribbon Barrettes

Would any of you crafty ladies be able to tell me what i can use to make the antennaes of these butterflies?

It looks like Q-Tips. I've seen then with tapered ends like that.

I would use pipe cleaners and bend them towards the top.

It looks to me like it is what is used in the center of some artificial flowers. Does anyone still sell supplies to make flowers?

The barrettes are wonderful --- can you tell us where to get the directions?

No directions, i just saw it in a boutique ad. So i'm going to try and figure it out just by looking at the picture!

I'm off to Hobby Lobby later today and hope i can do it!!

HMMM.. these would make great hairclips for an infant. A friend is having a little girl and having trouble finding baby looking ones. Plus they match the babies room. I am going to use pieces of ziploc baggies as the clip part. My DD had some when she was younger and it worked great with fine hair.

Oh and the antenna do look like q tips. I wouldnt use wire of anysort on a smaller kids hair clip. I personally think they would look better with out the antenna anyway. That red is just YECK!

Glad you got to do them. It was an older thread and I feel creative today I was thinking that they antaenna would get caught in the kids hair too. The less tangles the less tears. LOL

Please think twice, ok three times, about putting anything in an infant's hair.

My friend's infant grandchild pulled it out of her hair and swallowed it. Luckily, an older sibling was riding in the car beside the infant and saw it happen, so they got medical help quickly. The baby was fine.
