Butterbeer - Don't believe the hype

I believe it could have used some Cascade hops to kick it up a notch, but other than that I found it rather enjoyable.

Sorry to go OT, but looking at the pic Damo posted..........what's the difference between Pumpkin Juice and Fizz? Not that I won't try both anyway, I love pumpkin, just curious. TIA!

It's great to see that menu. Raspberry Iced Tea is amazing. Frozen butterbeer is too but DS kept drinking most of it.

I love Butter Beer and am glad that it wasn't anything like beer, which I think tastes nasty.

It was pretty good. Very filling from what I remember. I wish it tasted more like root beer then cream soda, but that is just my personal taste. Then again if it did, they would have to roll me out of there like Violet from Willy Wonka!!

We only bought it from the outside vendors, but could see the frozen thing next to the liquid one.

Only tried the liquid...it was tasty as long as you drank it quickly. if you let it sit though...ugh. Nasty. It all separated and looked heinous and didn't taste much better.

I don't know the difference between the pumpkin juice and pumpkin fizz as I didn't try the fizz. Loving pumpkin the way I do, I did try the pumpkin juice and didn't like it. It tasted like a strange tasting apple juice with grit in it. I loved the frozen butterbeer though. The regular butterbeer was just OK. My husband loved the Hogshead Ale best though.

Pumpkin fizz is pumpkin juice mixed with soda water. So it was basically carbonated pumpkin juice. I was not too big of a fan of pumpkin juice, at least not cold. I think I'd love it warmed up on a cold fall day though.

If you're also buying it for the bottle as a keepsake don't buy at Three Broomsticks..they serve it in a regular plastic cup DD was soooo disappointed.

Don't think we're all agreed on that at all.

I think what we are agreed on is anyone who would post 7 times about their dislike of Butterbeer and nothing else is A) Negative B) Redundant C) Had too much Butterbeer without the Butter.

OBVIOUSLY of the 1 million BBeers sold in the first 6+ months of opening, SOMEONE had to actually LIKE Butterbeer.

I liked it enough to re-create it, or attempt to.

I'm confused, . You purchased your Butterbeer from a cart and PJ in the TBS? The PJ was right there in/near the BBeer cart as well and it didn't seem odd that PJ at the carts was 6.95 yet only $2.99 in the restaurant and that you didn't know there was Frozen Bbeer, yet it was on the menu in the very same restaurant?

Lol, just because it was in Harry Potter doesn't mean you have to like it. It is essentially Cream Soda, as many people have pointed out. Nobody raves about Cream Soda do they!? Until they put it in Harry Potter it seems.

Let me help you understand....

Never having been to either before how would we know? And considering you have to do one before the other...

Butterbeer was on our "must try" list...we ordered from the cart after getting off FJ at RD. I never asked for prices because frankly I didn't care..this was a MUST TRY for us. I ordered 6 Butterbeer, 2 in mugs. I was the 4th/5th person in line. I wasn't asked if I wanted frozen or non and didn't know there was an option until AFTER I paid and saw someone on our way to Honey Dukes with one.

TBS was also a "must do"...so much so that we went at 10:30 because there wasn't much of a line (15 minute wait to the counter). Darn menu changed from Breakfast to Lunch while we were in line...so we had the Great Feast at 11:00 a.m. My DAUGTHER had PJ on her "must have" list. When she saw it on the menu at TBS she wanted to order it from there rather than wait in line again from one of the carts. Not pricing it from the carts before coming into TBS we didn't think $2.99 was odd of a bottle of juice with a pumpkin top. When we got our order it was when we realized you didn't get the bottle. To be honest I didn't know what the cart price was until your post!

Regardless the stuff was nasty but I my mug! And DD didn't care for the PJ so she never went back to get the bottled one.
