Butcher or Meat Market

Hello,

I am posting for a friend in the UK who is lucky enough to be spending three weeks over Christmas in Orlando.

She always buys her meat from a butcher and never a supermarket. Her family will be staying in Windsor Palms and she wants to know where the nearest butcher's shop to where they will be staying.

Anyone have any ideas or maybe knows a website where we can find this information?

well if she finds one let us locals know because I've been here almost 4 years and have yet to find one!!

Locally to WDW and WP you won't find a butcher, bakery or deli unless you go to Publix grocery store and even then there isn't a meat counter. There is pre-packaged meat but that's it.

You will now find an English bakery in the Osceola Mall in Kissimmee but don't know of any butchers.

Good to know! I love mom & pop bakeries. As mom2of2 pointed out, they're not common anymore.

Don't any of the Publix in the Orlando area have meat counters? Our Publix does.

Whilst not traditional butchers as found in the UK, you may want to try either of the following stores for great selections of meat, fruits and vegetables (including organic) and cheeses.

They are not 'just around the corner' but if you want a better choice than Publix, Target or Walmart, it may be worth a drive. Especially if you need organic or other special produce.
