My husband is not a fan of WDW but he likes OKW so every trip we go to OKW and he finally agreed to branch out.

We did stay at AKL of a couple nites and hubby didn't like tht hotel feel so blt is out. We are doing mnsshp. sea world and DHS not many park days so I don't think location matter to much

My daughter would love to do some fishing of shore. Is there any resort that is within walking distance or easy travel to fort wilderness for fishing? I am thinking wilderness lodge villas but it looks hotel like.

we will only be there for 5 days staying i a studio then we move to 1 bed at vero.....so points not a concern as studios are pretty cheap....thanks so much for any help.

i know this isnt "dvc" but have you guys thought about the cabins at Fort Wilderness? its OKW style because you have your own separate unit in a pod of units and it does have the full kitchen (but i dont think Washer/drier). we love the cabins but they do cost a bit more in points than DVC resorts.

Villas at Wilderness are within walking distance to Ft. Wilderness and if I recall there is fishing right at the resort. At the Villas at Wilderness you do walk out of the villa into a hallway so in that way it is hotel like. But the Villas are separate from the main resort with its own smaller lobby area and quiet pool. It also has a very rustic, woodsy feel. At OKW you walk right outside from your room and I guess maybe one other place I can think of like that isthe Treehouse Villas at SSR. It is on the water but I don't think it has fishing.

Boy, your DH sounds like mine! Only place he'd stay was OKW, and he golfs every day while I do the parks alone. But a couple years ago I got him to BCV, and he's been there 2 times since. He still prefers OKW, but the BCV are OK to him. He stayed at VWL once before he discovered OKW, but won't go back.

treehugnmama, I know this doesn't help you. But I have to say, my family is the same way as your husband. That's why we go to OKW pretty much every time, except the first time we went to BCV (that is before we discovered OKW ;)). But I do plan to go to AKV Kidani Village next time. It should not be as hotel like as Jambo House.

don't get me wrong okw is my fav resort as well but we spend 5 days at disney then 6 at vero and vero and okw are much alike . I called today and the only resorts that were available were okw, ssr and akl so I guess that answers my question. we did AKL and OKW and we visited ssr and don't really care for it so I booked OKW lol I was hoping to go somewhere "new" but I waitlised BCV but I wonder if I would be better off waitlisting wilderness lodge.

It is f and w time and although we will not be going to epcot I imagine a lot of people would want BCV at this time. I was disapointed that was the only availability but I was a week late calling at the 7 month mark.

That's when I convinced DH to stay at BCV-F&W time. And if you're waitlisted there, keep hoping. I just gave up a night in a studio there in early October. So there's hope for you yet!
