Busy times

I have been reading severL posts that say dvc busy times are not the same as they are for Disney. How would you rate July and august for dvc-ers?

I cannot comment for July, but late Aug has been easy to get RSVP 3 yrs in a row, so I would call it low. We always go for 8-12 days arriving home on Sun before school. (Day before labor day). Never had any trouble booking 7 month window. ADRS due to FD is another whole story..


I cannot see any reason July wouldn't be busy any time kids are outta school.. people take Vk.

We went in the second week of august last year and even up to a month or two before we were able to add a couple of nights to our reservation with a choice of resorts (except BLT).

I would say they are relatively easier for DVC reservations, but that is not always a guaranteed. A lot of DVC owners might try to go during the off times...there are still a lot of DVC owners that are teachers, etc and are limited to school vacations, etc. The big differenc IMO is that the experienced DVC'ers (lot of them here on the DIS) will try to secure those non-peak times very early in anticipation of getting the lower point villas early. The "normal" DVC'er off the street that just plans vacations are not hovering over the phone at 11 or 7 months respectively trying to snag a villa.

As others frequently mention, DVC is designed to run at capacity all times of the year, so if the system works properly you will see 90%+ capacity at any given time....
