I haven't been to Universal since January of 2012. A friend of mine is trying to plan a trip soon (well, i'm planning for her) and has a few questions.

When I went, we stayed at Royal Pacific and had the Express Pass which was awesome and I've told her is necessary for her trip. she's either going to go....End of August, End of Sept, End of Oct or End of November...

Which would be the overall best time to increase the chance of reduced crowds?

Cheaper to stay at an onsite resort that includes Express Pass or a cheaper one and pay for it?

When I went, I bought an AP for me then the rest of the tickets there was a discount as well as discount on hotel and dining, etc. Still that way?

End of sept through oct will be HHN nights on the studios side. Not sure when turkey day is this year but end of November will be busy if it's in that time frame. I say end of September. Still hot and perfect for the water rides!

That was what I was going to say
End of sept but avoid the weekends due to early closing for Hhn

Next choice would be very end of November as long as it is away from T day
