I called this morning for Le Cellier on August 18th and the only thing available was 11:45 am. I took it because so many people have told me how great the food is, I was just really hoping for a late lunch. Oh, well, lucky to get it at all during FD!

You are lucky--I called at 7 am on May 18 (90 days before the first day of free DDP) and Le Cellier was already completely booked for dinner on August 18! I did manage to get a dinner ADR for a couple of days later, so I feel lucky, too.

Oh, and one more thing: :welcome: to the DIS!

We managed to get dinner for the 23rd no problem....the issue was with Ohana!! no availability for the 24th

Actually - Early lunches are the best. I find that late lunches are crowded and you end up waiting for a table to open up. If you go right when the restaurant opens then you get in a lot quicker. Less time waiting and everything moves much quicker (getting food etc.) - then your back out enjoying the parks quicker.

Yep--that's why I do early dinners, too. It only takes a couple of slow eaters to throw the whole reservation system off.

I have the same theory for doctor/dentist appts--if you take the earliest one, they won't have time to get backed up yet. But by afternooon, you could spend an hour reading a 2 year old People magazine before you even get to the waiting room.

Agreed - We like early dinners for this reason too. Later dinners are always packed.

I've eaten lunch at Le Cellier twice. I wasn't the only one chowing down on steak, 90% of the people there were. The food is just as good as dinner. And I've eaten dinner there three times.

I hadn't thought of that, but it WILL be nice to not have a long wait when we show up to be seated!
