Just began making my reservations for the first week of Dec. 2002....MS was very busy this morning! The CM I spoke with indicated that "everyone else" was doing the same. After getting the ressie I asked if it was booking up quickly and she said "oh yeah!"

I'm taking my parents to BWV for the week in a preferred view 2br. We're looking forward to it! I can't imagine if I wanted a standard view! I guess the first week of Dec. really is a popular week for DVC.

Yeah.. I called too. I had to recall MS for about 10 minutes before getting a ring. After that I waited on hold about another 15 minutes before my earring accidentally hit the button and disconnected me from MS. Talk about not having a good day. I did finally get through about 1/2 hour later. Made our ressies for VWL. Could only make it for Dec.1 2002 . I'll call back day by day so that we can get a 2 BR. The CM told me that so far VWL had full availablity. It may not be that rough getting a 2BR there after all! I think I just need to relax here! :)

The next three weeks are going to be like this!!

Oh, my that does sound like a rough morning!

I specifically asked if I should continue to call day by day for my reservation...and the cm indicated that it would be a good idea. But that's for BWV. I was hoping to not have to call every day. Our first night is Nov. 30th, so we got our first 2 nights...I'll be able to complete the reservation on Monday.

gee you folks are scaring me the only time I thought I would have to make reservations on a day-by-day basic was for thankgiving - so the first couple of weeks of December are now as popular as thankgiving?

How difficult and how far out can you wait to make ressies for the few days right after Thanksgiving? I would love to take kids for a quick trip to see the decorations. Is everything completely decorated by the day after Thanksgiving?

Thanks!

We had to settle for the week after Thanksgiving this past year.

The 1st week in Dec is much lower in points compared to the last week in Nov. Thus the demand for the 1st 2 weeks in Dec. It's decorated weather is nice and the points are the lowest. Best deal!!

Hoping VWL isn't a problem, but maybe I will do day by day.
I will stay at BWV eventually but at Christmas, VWL is the only place we want to stay!

Oh oh, just tried, busy, busy, busy

From what I gathered from posts here last year, the first two weeks of December are incredibly popular with DVC members....low points, holiday decorations, MVMCP, etc...

My plan was to call the first day I could and see how availability was...since I wasn't even looking for a standard view. But now it seems I should be calling day by day to be absolutely assured of my reservation (I hate uncertainty...a wait list might kill me!). Also in my attempt to get a BW view I wanted to be one of the first ressies in...though it may not make a difference, I'll do what I can to get it. I'd love to really WOW my parents.

As mkkim posted VWL doesn't seem to be in as high demand...but that all could be the perception of the cm's we spoke to, also.

Just a reminder--someone said they had to settle for the week after Thanksgiving this year--in 2002 Thanksgiving is not until the 28th, and the week after Thanksgiving is the first week of December--so the holiday "season" is a week shorter.:(

It took me about 2 hours to book the Disney Magic cruise for Nov 30th. This was on New Years Eve day. Great way to ring in the New Year! About an hour before I was off hold and then another hour to get DVC to connect with DCL and tell me I was all set.
But on New Years I was singing "Happy New Year to me - we're going on the sea!"
