I haven't been to WDW since 2014 so I'm sorry if this is a dumb question. I was just told that Disney resort buses no longer go directly to Magic Kingdom but they take you to the transportation hub or the ferry and you go from there. Is this correct? My brother just stayed at an off property hotel (Lake Buena Vista Palace) and told me it took them an hour and 40 minutes to get from their hotel to the gates of Magic Kingdom because of this. Thanks in advance.

Sorry for Busses typo in subject. Can't edit.

On-site buses are dropped off at the front gate. However, for your brother's case it is correct that off-site buses are dropped off at the TTC.

Not true.

I will say ONE time back in 2010 going from POP they had extra buses and half my party got on one and the other half got on the other which ended up being a motor coach vs a bus and we did get dropped off at TTC but I think that is quite rare.

Of course if you're stying offsite and relying on a 3rd party shuttle its going to take you longer and yes you'd be taken to TTC since you're using an offsite non Disney shuttle.

Sure I could see that happening, but that is way outside normal operating procedures, which I took to be more the question, and would be very rare as you alluded. On site guests can reasonably expect with a high degree of confidence they will be dropped off at the gates. Though I would say if a motor coach bus ever pulled up at your resort to take you to MK then I would assume you'll be going to TTC because the bus loop at MK probably can't handle the size of them.

Disney buses don't do that. Non-Disney buses do.
