what other resorts does bwv share a bus with? we are going in Aug. We usually rent a car but are trying to cut costs...

Shares with Swan and Dolphin and sometimes also with YC and BC. BWV is our main home and we are there at least twice a year. We often get a rental car. One of the reasons is that we have historically found (now for a period of over 17 years) that BW's bus system is the absolute worst on site, where delays seem to be the rule not the exception, and where they seem to go out of their way to be lousy. Note, you take boat or walk to Epcot and Studios and the boats are fine.

think the problem is the central location of BWV - it is just about equal distance from it to both AK and MK - although because of the entrance MK might be longer.

It mostly takes more time to drive to the MK than take the bus. So despite the bus system at BWV - would still take the bus to the MK.

I have been at BWV in all months except July, Aug. and Sep. When I have gone, the route has always been BWV then Swan then Dolphin to and from Magic Kingdom. I guess during very slow times Yacht and Beach are added, but I haven't had that happen. The last few trips there has been a cast member at the BWV bus stop in the mornings and that has seemed to help the service. My worst experience has been trying to use the bus to and from Downtown Disney. Takes forever, but I found that to be true from other resorts as well.

We stayed there last May and didn't have TOO much trouble with the bus, but only because we were the first stop. By the time it got to the Swan/Dolphin's second stop, the bus was usually full. We actually saw people screaming and pushing to try to get on a bus we were on! At least there's only 1 stop at BW though. We were just at Saratoga Springs... five stops in one resort is too much for me!

Have fun!

I usually rent a car but on my trip in November at BWV I didn't. I was pleasantly surprised with the busses to MK and AK. Just stopped at Swan & Dolphin. I didn't go to DTD. Rode the boat to DHS, walked or boat to Epcot.

I've never figured out why people get so steamed about BWV busses. They really don't seem any worse than any other resort.

The busses only seem to take forever if I'm running late for a dinner reservation, and that doesn't matter what resort I'm staying at.

Keep in mind you can take a boat or walk to Epcot and the studios.

About saving money by not renting a car.....if someone in your family can haunt the car rental sites a couple times a day, you can snatch one up pretty cheap. I was able to get a mid size from dollar for May for less than $120 for 8 days.

When we stay at BWV, we usually don't go to the MK. We will drive to AK, because parking is very easy there early in the morning. We walk to DHS and Epcot. Drive and park for DownTown Disney. Being able to drive and park at the water parks is great also. Or driving to the WinnDixie or other food stores, or driving to eat off-property is a money saver, too.

My main complaint with the BWV busses is the lack of any organization for the people waiting, unless things have changed. There are no signs or roped off lines for the different busses to different parks. Very annoying when you've been waiting 15 minutes and another family just walks up and tries to get ahead of you to board the bus. The busses are not very roomy. And I understand that the waiting area is small; but something really needs to be done about this. I've seen people on these boards complain about numerous MK busses coming, but waiting "forever" for AK. Keep in mind that more transportation is most likely provided when certain parks have the "early morning extra magic hours". And if the bus is full, it most likely will not stop at the Swan and Dolphin in the morning.

Enjoy your trip. We love BWV. It is busy but relaxing at the same time.

Stayed at BWV last June. At that time buses to MK and AK stopped at BWV first then Swan/Dolphin - wait time about 10-15 mins at resort and parks.

Catching a bus from DTD back to BWV was horrid. Buses stopped at S/D, YC/BC then BWV, packed-in like sardines, wait + travel time was 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

Whenever I stay at BWV and take a bus back from the parks, I always get off the bus at the Swan, and walk to BWV. It's a short walk, and much quicker than riding around to Dolphin, Yacht, Beach, and finally BW.

It amazes me how the BWV routes must change. I have stayed there at least 40 times and BWV is always the first stop on the way back. Crazy.

I have found this to be an issue at many of the deluxe resorts. I don't mind having to wait for a bus, but nothing is more frustrating than waiting 20 min to a half hr for a bus to come, and then as soon as it pulls up, people walk right up and get on in front of those who have been waiting for a while. We didn't really find sharing busses to be an issue, and coming back will get off at the Swan/Dolphin as it's faster. The ability to walk/boat to Epcot and DHS overrides the bus issues to MK/AK (DTD is HORRIBLE to get to, but I have found that everywhere except POFQ, thanks to the boat)
