I know the bigger resorts sometimes have trouble with busing. For example, at SSR many guests request the Grandstand section because it is the first bus stop. They usually get a seat as a result. Is it this way at OKW? What building or section is best?

We were at OKW the week from Thanksgiving day through the following week. We thought the bus service was great. We didn't need to stand at any time. The time of year you are visiting will probably make some difference, but we were really happy with it. We were close to the first bus stop, which is Peninsular Rd. However, if we saw we just missed a bus, we walked to the Hospitality House, which is the last bus stop and we still didn't need to stand.

We were at OKW last July - and found the bus service to be one of the best. We had cars with us - but used the buses.

We were at OKW from Christmas to New Year's and never had a problem with the buses. Not only did they come often, there was often plenty of room. During that entire week we only had "standers" on one trip.

Only at the busiest times, park opening and closing, have I had to stand on the OKW busses. That being said, their are 5 bus stops, and if you stay anywhere near the first 3, I doubt you'll have any problems.

The stops are, in order, Peninsular Road (bldgs 23 to 29), South Point (45 to 55), Turtle Pond (30 to 44), Miller's Road (17 to 22) and Hospitality House/North Cove Road (11 to 15 and 62 to 64). Some buildings are with comfortable walking distance for more than one stop.

We were there the same week as magicaldisney and the Peninsular Rd. stop was our stop. We usually opted to walk over to Hospitality House to get the bus though instead of riding for so long inside the resort. We usually still had seats other than the beginning of the day. I don't mind standing if other people need seats.

We did have a problem with getting the Epcot bus one morning. There were a lot of us waiting for over 45 minutes, so I finally went over to Bell Services to ask why we were still waiting. He was able to call Transportation and get some buses sent over. He said that there was a problem with too many buses directed to a different park for some reason.

Within a few minutes, we had several buses appearing and one of them came straight in to Hospitality House to pick up all of the people there and took us to Epcot without running throughout the rest of the resort.

If you feel that you are waiting too long, talk to Bell Services.

In 12 years of staying there, we have always had good bus service at OKW. The only time there is ever a slight issue is around 3:30 in the afternoon. There must be a shift change about then, because that is the time we usually end up waiting more than 20 minutes.

The only problems we have ever had on an OKW bus is feeling a bit lonely at times. Quite frequently we have been the only family on the bus, or riding along with one or two other parties.

Our experience has always been that OKW has the best bus service at WDW. :thumbsup2 We have stayed almost everywhere on site. The only thing that beats OKW bus service is being on the monorail.:goodvibes

We've had hellacious bus service on our two stays at OKW (both in the summer) - including missing park openings twice because of waiting over an hour for a bus in the morning (busses filled and skipped our stop) and waiting over an hour for a bus at DHS. We eventually just stopped using the busses and took our car - much less stressful.

These are all very encouraging posts. I'm thinking of requesting a section near South Point because I heard that Bdg. 46 is fantastic. Any ideas or thoughts on this?

We like builidings 45, 46, and 55 in that area. Frankly, we don't have very many buildings we DON'T like at OKW. I think 29 is the only one I would never request, and we don't care for any of the Turtle Pond places we have been in so far.

I agree with Diane's locations, except I would add 28 to the less desirable category, along with 29. And in truth there is othing wrong with the rooms in those buildings, either...but the view is better from your front door than from the patio/balcony.
