Bush's Lost Opportunity

Since you want to be difficult, I'll break it down, even though we both know the answer already. She was talking about protecting the environment and workers. Now whether you want to call those rights or protections or whatever, the point remains the same, regardless of semantics.

I guess if she can be pedantic, I can too ;)

BTW, I thought unions existed to protect workers, not the fed govt. :smooth:

That to me means that anyone who cared would have been paying attention to the campaign of the Democrats over the past three years - and they would have already formed an opinion of President Bush over that same interval.

I see, so those people who enjoy politicis, follow it closesly for a three year period are the only ones who "care" to be paying attention and therefore should be the only ones allowed to vote.

You make me sick you pathetic weakling.

I enjoy politics but cannot spend 3 years of my life reading up on every single democratic and republican campaign or vote in order to help make up my mind for this election. And the world is not quite so black and white as you would make it. And I must admitt after reading your post in this thread - this is the reason republicans scare me! You are either with them or you are an idiot or ignorant - both are equally insulting. I realize not all republicans are this way - and I have had a great deal of respect for a lot of republicans on this board. But you want to take away every American Citizens right to vote because in October they are still weighing the issues? What other civil liberties would you like to take away?

Not to mention to all of those that spout off about 9/11 - this election is so much more then 9/11. There are several issues that are important that seem to be pushed to the background because all the republicans want to talk about is 9/11. I for one want to hear about Healthcare issues, civil liberties, and our foreign policies. Since these get pushed to the background I am hoping in the debates that they will be discussed. Because if I HAD to make up my mind on 9/11 alone - I would vote for Kerry.

Not required - it is much easier than that.

- All you have to do is recognize that national security really is more important than your social issues.

Or

- You decide you would rather have some preferred domestic policy right up until the time the terrorists behead your family.

Thats the choice - and I see you have made yours.

All of the issues you want to talk about depend on us having a secure nation. 9-11 is representative of this discussion, since 9-11 forced our country to respond to terrorist threats.

If you had to make up your mind based on 9-11 alone, you would vote for Kerry? Can you specifically explain why? No, you don't have to, but I'm very curious about this since he didn't lead the country after 9-11.

Also, what is his policy? During the debate, he mentioned 2 policies. The first one was that, if his policy was followed, he could begin to pull out troops within 6 months. However, he also said he would go about broadening (I'm paraphrasing) our coaliiton (which by the way, he is in fact attempting to dismantle--Australia).

So, how do you even know his platform regarding 9-11 and our War on Terror?

You are listening to the liberal spinmeister media gangs to much! Bush did just fine in the debate. I will take substance over mister take a nap all day and get a manicure while GW is out and about Florida giving some kind words to people who have lost everything in hurricaines! As far as going to Iraq......a terrorist is a terrorist....whether in Afghanistan or Iraq. We need a strong leader not a smooth talking slick willy again. Bush is a great president and he gets my vote definately!

My social issues are everyone's social issues. And while Yes, fighting and protecting us from terrorism is important, you also have to take care of the people living in this country. What is the point of fighting terrorism when people in this country can't afford the basic needs in life? And who says that Kerry cannot fight terrorism while also taking care of those in this country that need it? Or Bush for that matter?

Actually I think you may have helped me make up my mind. If you want to continue living in fear you go right ahead buddy.

You already had your mind made up I am quite sure.
Health care, jobs, taxes all of those things wont mean diddlysquat if your dead! Homeland security is very important. Much too important to test Kerry the flip flopper and his wealthy foul mouthed wife, who just wants to buy her way into the white house.....all the while giving money to defend the people trying to kill us. You go right ahead and vote for Kerry....I will just pray alot harder if he is elected because he has had a twenty year record of being WEAK on military strength, honey go look it up, don't take my word for it......God Bless

I could go on and on, but I know it would do know good....you need to wake up!!!!

Oh my, I'm going to have to deliver some bad news and you were on such a roll.

The story about the manicure was false and evidently it was a Fox news reporter having a little fun.

Maybe, "You are listening to the rightwing spinmeister media gangs to much!".

actually I hate to burst your bubble, but I watch the liberals to see what they are spewing...I already agree with conservatives so thats redundant sweets.....:hyper: :o

It seems to me that Bush thought he was going to hit a home run with this first debate because of the topic and didn't prepare as much as he should have. He seemed to have been taken off guard. I say this because he appeared and spoke as if he were frustrated and annoyed, with the comments about the presidency being hard work and that he knew Osama bin Laden attacked us, for example. His mannerisms, his posture and his tone all spoke of being on the defensive when I thought he should have been on the offensive with the debate topic at hand. In contrast, Kerry came off quite relaxed and confident.

This probably won't be the case in the next debates, but we'll just have to see how it goes.

And you were still wrong about the manicure, snookems.

I am not saying that Health Care, Jobs, and Taxes are more important then national security. BUT they are important! And there isn't much use in being ALIVE if you can't support your family, your health, and you end up living on the streets! Or end up wasting away and dying because you couldn't afford cancer treatments, or having to give you children to social services because you couldn't afford to take care of them!
Yes these are extreme examples but so was yours.

I am actually done with this conversation at this point MinnieMouse51 and Rokkitsci want to do nothing but insult those who are either undecided or voting democratic. It isn't a debate but a mud slinging contest. I much more enjoy learning about politics from people that bring something to the table like TheAnswer and Kendra.

It seems to me that senators have the gift of the gab. Kerry is a great debater, he is a masterbater...debater I meant....I will give him that (as far as style and pinache).
But he has nothing by way of substance. If I were looking to hire a debater who could sell ice water to eskimo's, he would get my vote. I really don't care at all for the idea of checking with the French to see if its ok before we do anything in Our national interest! They are dirty in the oil for food program, up to their eyeballs, you wait and see.......

your social issues are not mine, thank you. I don't need the federal govt trying to solve my problems. The Federal Govt is not tasked with providing charity.

I really do not believe we will change any hearts or minds in here. People have made up their minds. People who are saying they are undecided, just want the attention. That is my belief anyway.
President Bush has turned the economy around. He has been strong on the war on terror. He has stated his reasons for his actions from the beginning and has been steadfast. Terrorists are in Iraq as well as Afghanistan, and many other places yet to be rooted out. We are at war! You can't win a war by prosecution lawyers or fast talking debating. I pray for our country that President Bush is re-elected and we have four more years with a great President, who is not afraid to make unpopular decisions when he thinks its the right thing to do!
Thank you

Rokkitsci,

Who ever you vote for I'll vote for the other guy.

Anyone who calls other people idiots must like those type of leaders and people.

So you my friend have made up my mind.

Kerry for Pres.

Oh by the way thanks, cause I was undecided. And by the way, I'm a medical doctor so I can't be too slow on the up take.

Anyone who makes his voting decision based on a regrettable comment by another poster is indeed slow on the uptake. . .medical doctor or not.

By the way, where was your outcry when Teresa Kerry herself referred to half this population as idiots?

Yes it was something like if you don't agree with her husband you are idiots.......then she likes to call the competition "scumbags"...and tell reporters, trying to do their jobs...to "shove it"

These people were not undecided hahaha....get real..they are Kerry people......mindless robots:wave2:
