We are flying out of this airport for the first time in May...tell me everything I need to know about the rule and regulations.....we have an early flight is there a place to eat breakfast? thanks in advance!

We have flown out of IAH (Bush Intercontinental) several times. Since you are driving to Houston we would recommend using the Park and Fly lot to park your car in. Its just down the road from the airport and they will pick you up at your car in the parking lot and take you straight to the terminal you are flying out of. When you return, they pick you up by luggage claim and take you right to you car in the lot so that you have minimal carting around of your heavy luggage. If you follow this link you can also save a couple of dollars a day when reserving online (http://www.parknflynetwork.com/referrer/google/houston4.htm?gclid=CML-jJ7G0ZICFQ4JPQod3zapkA)

The rules and regulations are the same for any other airport. You need to arrive about an hour and a half before your flight to check in and get through security and get to the gate. Wear shoes that are easy to slip on and off because you will have to take them off when going through security. Go to the TSA website so that you know what you can and cannot put in your carry on.

There are several places where you can get breakfast at the airport once you have gone through security and located your departure gate. They have Starbucks, snack counters, fast food restaurants, etc. Its just a matter of seeing whats available near your gate and choosing what looks best.

Good luck and we hope you have lots of fun. Feel free to PM us if you have any other questions. BTW, we are neighbors, we are your Mid County Madness rivals.

I would suggest, if at all possible, of eating breakfast before you go to the airport since you have a car. There are several choices that won't charge you a fortune--Sonic, McDonalds, Jack-in-the-Box, and a few others that I just can't think of.

Hello to all you fellow SE Texas families-we are neighbors!! We are in Lumberton. We always fly out of IAH- love it. Once we flew from the regional, but boy that has gotten sooooo expensive!! We usually go through a chick-fil-a or something and eat or wiat and grab a Burger King or Smoothie at the airport. Eating there makes the time go faster;) If your kids aren't telling you they are"starving to DEATH" in the security line!! Have a great trip and think of all us poor Texans stuck at home:thumbsup2

Hey guys!! I just saw this thread and wanted to say hi. We are from Nederland.
We are going to drive next year. I think flying with 2 small kids may be a little crazy for us right now (like 16 hours in the car won't be - LOL).

Yes, you can park a rental vehicle in that lot. Something you might look at though, see what the price of 2 one way rentals would be. Maybe turning in the van at IAH and renting another one on your return. It might be cheaper, just a thought.
